With Richmond very clearly needing to rebuild, I have seen some commentary from Tigers fans (here and elsewhere) that they should try to get Hopper and his big long-term contract off their books. Basically the same sort of speculation as Melbourne with Clayton Oliver.
There's been a lot of talk...
‘Positive message’: Prized Tigers recruits all in despite Hardwick departure
Prized recruits Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper told teammates their commitment to chasing a premiership at the Tigers had not wavered as they digested Damien Hardwick’s decision to finish up as Richmond coach.
Both...
Well, did they?
IMO this one appears to have Jaeger O'Meara and Tom Mitchell joining Hawthorn in 2017 at the backend of their premiership window written all over it. The Hawks tried to avoid the drop off but all they really did was delay a rebuild that they finally committed to last year...
The point of this thread is strategy, learn from it.
How can this scenario rhyme for Richmond in the future?
Now the reason, to me, we got Hopper and Taranto, apart from the leg work, identification etcc.. was simply a matter that Richmond did not have a lot of strength in bigger midfield...
OK, now that we have landed our prized targets, what guernsey numbers will the lads wear in 2023 & beyond.
Those available at this point in time are 10, 12, 13, 14, 18, 22, 23, 24, 37.
For mine it’s 14 Taranto, 23 Hopper.
HERALD SUN - Jon Ralph, September 10, 2022
Just how far can the additions of Tim Taranto and Jacob Hopper take Richmond? Take a look at the Tigers’ best 22 for 2023 and tell us what you think.
Next season Jack Riewoldt will play at Richmond on a contract as much as $175,000 less than former...
Won’t be a FA until the end of 2023, but a lot of talk around that the Cats, Tigers and Crows are trying to get in a year early to secure his services.
Would seemingly become a hell of a lot more gettable if Taranto re-signs.
Post the inside word here. Where will he end up? My guess is he...
Data from footywire. To check the draft order see the thread here.
Footywire says: "While we make every effort to keep up to date with player contracts, it is likely that our data may at times be out of date, incomplete or inaccurate. If you find any player contracts that need updating...

Will be due for a nice pay rise and is in talks to stay but nothing yet
On the open market I’d say he’s a 750k player, potentially more if he continues to have a strong year

I'm planning on making videos for Kelly, Coniglio, Cameron, Greene, Whitfield, Perryman, Finlayson, Himmelberg, Hopper, Riccardi, Taranto and probably a couple of others I haven't decided on yet, I'm open to any requests.

What’s his worth salary wise?
Victorian boy out of contract at years end, no doubt will get a decent pay rise assuming he improves again this year.
A lot of focus will be on Coniglio and Kelly’s contract but this bloke can play too
...all!
I've been reading/hearing over the last week or so that Geelong is the frontrunner to secure the services of both Devon Smith and Jacob Hopper. Now, of course, I'd be disappointed if we lost either one of Smith or Hopper, but to lose them both to a competitor like Geelong would be more...
Would people rather go after a short term player in Gibbs for our midfield needs, or go for a player not at that level yet but offers more long term prospects than Gibbs in Hopper?
For me its Hopper.
Guaranteed to get some big offers from other clubs. He's a terrific young prospect, wins clearances, contested footy and kicks goals.
Worth a pick between 5-10 I think.
...I do get quite emotional about it when I see my best friends on the tv," she said.
"But I hope the best for the girls and I hope they do really well over there. "

So, this is my personal team. They are called the hoppers and they play in the BFL. The BFL has the same uniform policy as the AFL so if the AFL do indigenous jumpers, the BFL does. My team has been playing since 2000 and were sponsored by OBE (QBE). The league had a standard manufacturer and...
Sorry guys couldn't find anywhere else to put this, here's Jacob Hopper's contribution against VFL bodies on the weekend.
