...to Western Australia as a train-on player, and potentially even gain the Eagles' final list spot.
The 31-year-old would be vying with former Sun Sandy Brock, who has been training with the club since the SSP window opened in November, as well as ex-Saint JamesVanEs - another key defender.

In the interim we have a choice to play Caminti or Boyd at full back. Even if we do I would put Howard on LTI and bring in Ethan Phillips, JamesVanEs or Adrian Cole.
It's not panic stations but it just goes to show how susceptible our list remains particular in critical key positions.
Well I think we want one of Edwads, Jamo or Brock/VanEs in the side round 1. At least one of them will be fit surely
Assuming Gov is fit, then leaves Maric as the 3rd tall.
We play GC, who probably run King, Walter and Read as the ruck/fwd id guess, so thatd leave Maric probably having to...
It's a real worry, isn't it.
We're in need of a KPD who is strong 1v1 and can lock down...On paper, VanEs has those traits but the injury history is a real worry. At best, he could be a modern version of Ashley McIntosh who had both the strength, 1v1 ability and speed/power.
We're probably...

In light of the above and the news JamesVanEs has joined Sandy Brock at training I thought this thread could do with a bit of a bump. Who starts as KPD if these two aren’t ready to go and what are poster’s preferences...
JVE is a good size but I found him to be a bit slow & fairly limited in his ability in the air…he may be just a lockdown defender but he’s only young so hard to say if he’s got a future at senior level
Had continual ankle problems. I thought he looked great in his first pre season but never got continuity. Hopefully he can stay fit and see how far he can go. He's got good size and strength.
Hey fellas. Just watched JamesVanEs train with us today, looked in pretty good nick. Just after some thoughts on his game and what he did/didn’t show at the Saints? I know he spent the last 18 months with an ankle injury which doesn’t make it easy to comment but any thoughts on what he...
yes sorry about that, correct Keeler is 20, the same age as Phillipou, but should be seen in a totally different context. It's like saying Dodson should be gone by 21 if he is not dominating the AFL. These big blokes take time. Even Roh wasn't picked up until about 23 and then was know as 'the...
...have allayed those fears to an extent.
The fact he's commenced pre season with a bit more weight and he's engaged in the training drills is all I wanted to see at this point.
As for comparisons with JamesVanEs and Oscar Adams, Keeler is capable of the mercurial. VanEs and Adams were not.
I agree that it seems crazy to think he might be delisted at seasons end but it's not. Go ask Jamesvanes or Oscar Adams. Similar picks in the draft, young talls who had injuries and they are gone
