I thought that too but I watched a few of his games- in particular this years grand final. Southport had it on their terms in the first half but Brew (with a few others) wrestled it back literally. As long as Bevo doesn't play him on a hff or as a small forward he should be right.
Brew has a head start on McComb in that he has won a JJ Liston Medal.
Not that the Liston has been a guarantee of success over the years. Some have become good AFL players but a lot didn't.
...and out of the team)
It can even be argued by virtue of being picked for 18 games, even if the on-field output of them was poor, that RobbieMcComb still played better than the 18 games that an 18 year old would have played out of necessity (such as the players we picked in the second half...
Some fail.
But the following didn’t take us very far:

...fact that half the time your third-round 18 year old may never make it to AFL level to contribute out of the list spot they've taken (RobbieMcComb was a better use of a list spot than Declan Hamilton).
More flexible rookie list options also means that teams would rather commit to a player...
...a player who can still pressure defensively really well, and (unlike McNeil) actually worries the other team offensively.
Obviously that’s not the internal view. But it’s a big call. RobbieMcComb was good at doing what he was told too. Talent and runs on the board do matter at a point.
Honestly his hands don't worry me as he played a lot of rugby growing up, it's also why he seems so hard to take down because he's pretty powerful through the hips.
He also initially played as a small forward when first recruited so he can rotate through there.
I’ve only watched CCP a couple or times and he looked much better than McComb did even at VFL level. It’s hard to judge VFL skills at times in bad conditions but CCP looked a better kick and much better penetration on his kicks. Better agility than Robbie too who has the turning circle of a key...
You are correct. I missed the Southport Sharks players who made the Final Cut for the gather round game.
I find that very strange. Particularly, as mentioned above, a South Australian, playing in Queensland representing Victoria.

It would be difficult for Nick to get past the fact that after playing over 300 games, playing in grand finals and being a repeat All Australian, he’s still not the best footballer in his family.
He’d probably compare RobbieMcComb to Bont to soothe the pain.
