...play round one. I'm training and playing as hard as I can."
Duryea turns 34 in April and is the second-oldest player on the list behind LiamJones. He has lived on one-year contracts for more than half of his 214-game career. His time looked up in 2020 when he couldn't get on the park due to...
Stephenson was a good choice. In his first year he averaged just under 20 touches and a goal a game. Then he did his hip ****ing around and was never the same.
Atu was steak knives in that deal and was never played in the position he was recruited. Meh but worth a shot at the time.
Corr was...
To answer regarding how I assess the results as a fellow headhunter, it would be a bit wanky of me to give him an overall mark.
This year in particular, I felt he did his job. No doubt about it. Reasons based on my previous post.
Previous years, I am by no means saying he was great. However...
Don't agree that you just use 1st round picks on needs. But if the talent level is close or depth in that position already, then sure positional needs/character/location/medical may be more decisive factors than just taking best talent.
You can take the best talent and trade some players on the...
We did play both as defenders, Roughead had a decent stint at it but played better in the ruck for us.
Jones play a half down there against Adelaide and it was probably the worst half I've ever seen from a defender, can't really blame the club for scratching the idea after that.
I don't recall us ever trying Jones down back, not for any great length of time.
McCartney shifted Roughead to defence in 2012. He was moved in the ruck around round 8 of 2015 by Bevo.
Way off topic but didn’t we try both Roughead and LiamJones as defenders before releasing them and other teams trying them as backs with success??????? Whatever were we doing wrong.
Fortunately the AFL also has a draft system which allows the weakest clubs access to the best young kids. So while perceptions of our club may make it harder to headhunt players from other clubs we can still get quality players in through the draft. This obviously makes it more important for us...
...will contribute to their efforts in 2025, although the team has been hit by a number of injury setbacks, including sidelined players LiamJones (hamstring), Jason Johannisen (hamstring), Tim English (abdomen), and Adam Treloar (calf).
Interim football boss Sam Power reinforced that...
Not sure about Libba but agree with the general sentiment.
Jones is the biggest loss. The gap between a fit Jones and JOD, Gardner and Buss is an abyss - he is a star with confidence and dominance. Great opportunity but a loss. We got Jones in because we were getting taken apart at FB. But he...
...MKennedy or Harmes in our starting midfield (mindful they're not the same style of player as Treloar but they're more than capable).
LiamJones hurts us, for sure, but he's 34 in a few weeks - I have to assume the club has planned for life without him.
Tim will be fine. Naughton will be fine.
Defender LiamJones to miss early rounds of 2025 campaign.
Western Bulldogs defender LiamJones will miss the beginning of the 2025 Toyota AFL Premiership Season after sustaining a high-grade hamstring strain.
Linky thing :
Ok what have you done with the real Mopsy? It is like an evil genius has been kidnapped by some well balanced & kind soul who is now impersonating Mopsy.
Miller has 2 more years after which he will be an unrestricted FA. You would fancy his chances of getting a good offer from somewhere, and...
I suppose if LiamJones can turn it around at age 25 Kossie can too.
Just ain't gunna hold my breath is all.
Personally i worry about the lack of leadership and experience forward. If Lynch is hurt then its obviously going to have to be Kossie and the kids.
It would be a bit of a slap in the...
Got to admit I agree and I got on those odds a while ago before the run of injuries. We'd be real value at the line IMO. Dogs also often start very poorly before finding their feet - all those injuries will surely add to that.
