Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

Similar premise though different application. Bulgarian system training day might look like am 1rm back squat (45min) 30min break 1rm power clean (45 min) 30min break 1rm jerk (45min) pm 1rm front squat (45min) 30min break 1rm full snatch (45min) 30min break 1rm snatch pull (45min) Full...

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

You'd have never made it as a weightlifter then haha. 2-3 sessions a day 6 days a week.

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

Yeah I'm looking forwards to seeing how this program goes. High frequency gained a fair bit of traction in powerlifting after the famous Norwegian study where training squat/bench/dead 6 days a week blew 3 days out of the water although it probably hasn't become super popular due to the...

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

    Also fwiw I’m programming for a powerlifter atm who’s plateaued on a 4 day upper/lower split so I’m progressing them to first M - bench T - squat & dead W - bench T - squat & dead F - squat, bench & deads Then after 8-9 weeks of that they’ll go to M - bench & squat T - bench & dead W - bench &...

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

Muscle soreness is poorly correlated with muscle damage It (probably) has more to do with the sensitivity of your nervous system post-exercise than anything else If there is any correlation to tissue damage/inflammation it is to do with connective tissue and NOT muscle tissue Training with...

    Injury/Rehab Injury/Niggle Management - w/ cptkirk

tears tend to either not bruise or bruise like a mofo. id say that’s just a result of cupping + some general inflammation around the muscle/joint

I can't imagine anything conclusive will come of it. There's waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many variables when it comes to injuries to be able to isolate a single factor (in a sporting context anyway).

Mod. Notice Depressed? Anxious? Call Beyond Blue (1300 224636), Lifeline (131114), resources in OP

This quote from Kobe Bryant was posted on Instagram by a page I follow. I’m not sure what others think of it but for me it perfectly echoes the way I learned how to deal with depression/anxiety (though I’d probably use the word accept in place of embrace).

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

I’m highly skeptical of this being the case (Barring some sort of genetic defect). There’s very strong evidence that ligaments (with research done specifically on the ACL) positively adapt to load...

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

while this is true, provided the tendon is given opportunity to adapt there‘s no reason this is problematic. kinda like running creating more load on the body than walking - not an issue unless you go from no running to a marathon in a week or something stupid like that

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

No full squats is a pretty old school mentality. If you can move through that range of motion without load there’s absolutely no reason it can’t be progressively loaded.

what was his reasoning for not doing full squats?

It does. But for most their bodies have adapted to it so they’re unlikely to run into any issues.

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

I’d just keep doing the program as written/planned. Those rep ranges are only really applicable for the first cycle where you’re using a low % of your real 1rm (although I know a guy that got 18 reps his first week of deadlifts lol). At some point you’ll get to a stage where you only just make...

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

crazy strength 5/3/1 is notoriously a low volume program (like pretty much every other beginner/intermediate program it needs to cater to the lowest denominator).

so like world’s strongest man, crossfit and most powerlifting lol. on the topic, would MLB receive funding or do they fall in with the above?

Strength Weight Training: Anything and Everything II

Only one way to find out. That said, I’d hardly call what you’ve got there high volume, and given 3x week frequency for every muscle group you won’t have to train as hard to see good progress.

I was outside for a couple of hours today and notice my throat a little bit. Can't imagine being a tradie atm (or any other profession involving being outside most of your shift).
