Have only watched the mini match which can give a distorted view of a game but anyway... Looks like Mo has regained form, a fantastic goal but should've buried that chance in the 2nd half. Wirtz looked heavily involved but just didn't get the bounce of the ball at crucial moments. Isak looked...

Apparently Bill Shankly used to tell his team to have some early shots from outside the box when faced with an ultra defensive opposition. The theory being if the oppo keep seeing us shaping up to ping one from long range they'll eventually be tempted to step out of line to try and block it and...

Disloyal and ungrateful. Don't accept Carlton's first offer.

He still must be bitter about us making him pose in that stupid jumper.

Thing with Guehi is that now we might face a bidding war if a bunch of clubs think they can get him on the cheap. I guess it comes down to whether he wants to come to Liverpool and only Liverpool.

Elliott is a solid EPL footballer but not quite a Top 4 level. He was really good in Klopp's last season with us, mainly coming off the bench. Later Klopp admitted he should've used him more in that season. I think he might have a career similar to Harry Wilson who I've always thought he shared...

So where's old mate with another 500 word non paragraphed screed on how FSG are the ruination LFC, the cause of global warming and the sinking of the Titanic?

Yeah woeful distribution once we cross half half way and Mr Record Signing Wirtz has been the biggest culprit. Alisson is holding onto the ball waaay too long. Maybe that's a reflection of lack of movement up the pitch, but whatever the reason it has to change.

Have to admit I was totally ignorant of "Article 17". I thought that by refusing to train or play Isak was simply in breach of his contract and Newcastle would be free to sanction him. Seems like players are being given more and more power and I'm not sure I like it. On this occasion it may...

Remind him it's a World Cup year and he won't be getting picked for France if he's sitting on the bench.

Alarming that we were 2-0 up at home and then completely lost control of the match. There's 10 days between Bournemouth and Newcastle so hopefully plenty of training sessions for Slot to sort some tactics out.

I was thinking about this the other day, Gomez in 23/24 was probably in out top 3 for that season. Yes he's horribly injury prone but his versatility makes his so valuable. Even played a bit as an emergency no.6 in that season.

I hear you. Man City @ Anfield 2023/24 is burned into my brain. Good player Diaz but not a great one. Mane left a very large shadow. Good business from the club.

If you believe Doyle from the Echo the club thinks Ekitike has the versatility to play out wide.

I heard on a Liverpool pod a few weeks ago that last season Wirtz led the Bundesliga for gaining possession in the attacking half. Comment was that was peak Firmino, someone who as we all know excelled as a false 9.

Just found out. Stunned, dumbfounded. His parents lose TWO sons. Weeks after planning for a wedding his widow has to face a funeral. 3 small children lose their father. And of course the devastation of everyone at the club. YNWA Diogo. RIP.

Not physical enough either. Decent player though, I'd like to keep him for squad depth but at this stage of his career he needs to be playing regularly, if not for us then someone else.

I hops so too. For me jury is still out on Szobo. I know he does a lot of good defensive work but he had what half a dozen goals/assists last season which probably isn't enough considering we walked the league and the position he plays in.

The one bit of leverage we have over Konate is that 2026 is a World Cup year. He ain't playing for France if he spends next season sitting on the bench.

Add me to the Boland over Hazelwood list. Had a gut full of the latter's injuries. He managed 2 tests last summer and broke down in both of them. Probably cost us a win in Brisbane which ultimately nearly cost us the series. What a joke Rabada is playing, hope our bats pummel him. He was...

On a recent blood red pod someone mentioned that since the start of the 23/24 season Wirtz is no.1 in the Bundesliga for possession won in the attacking half. That's Firminoesque. That's why he'd be so exciting to have.

I didn't turn up at all. :) I though Jamie Redknapp made a good point when it was mentioned to him that we won this title without a major signing. He said Slot was the major signing. Remarkable what a 1st year coach in the EPL has achieved.

Good finish by Gapko but a pretty dumb way to express himself. He basically can't afford to make a tackle for however much longer he's on the pitch.
