    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition Vol 2

Comparing Starcevic to Cole is the 2025 version of comparing Baker to Duggan.

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition Vol 2

Really depends on Gold Coast's plans for their first pick. Will it be used in a Curnow / player trade, do they want to trade up or are they happy to trade down for points.

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition Vol 2

I think selling pick 1 this year comes with a considerable amount of risk. Duursma is rated the best prospect and most likely to become elite (based on the information currently available). Go back and have a look at the 2002 draft (which this draft has been compared to). 1 elite player at 1...

If Carlton are trying to recruit Reidy from Freo, I would be asking about Pittonet. Not a world beater, but better than what we have and better than a late pick we won't use.

The fact Erasmus hasn’t signed a contract this late in the year, indicates he is probably on the move.

List Mgmt. Draftee, NGA and Father/Son Discussion - 2025

Duursma & Sharp does seem like the most logical option to take. Sharp seems to be rated around 3 atm (and is such a need for us). Cumming may slide a little due to his injury and not going to the combine. Some club will probably get a bargain there. Good to hear the club may not be locked...

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition Vol 2

The club should be trying to convince any good clearance midfielders, rucks and KPDs to come to us. Unfortunately, we have only been seriously linked to a mid sized defender. Last year we were linked to Baker and Graham from a long way out. Not looking good atm for added midfield and ruck...

List Mgmt. Draftee, NGA and Father/Son Discussion - 2025

Think GC know, the gravy train of top 10 NGAs for them ends this year. It's also probably their last opportunity to get a top 5 non academy kid (if we are stupid enough to do the 8 + 16 deal). They will be happy to trade future picks into this year, plus trade out players like Flanders and...
  9. N

List Mgmt. Welcome Campbell Chesser (Pick 14, 2021 National Draft)

I find it a bit ironic that when Chesser was interviewed Pre Draft, the club really rated his leadership and attitude. This may have been a factor in choosing to draft him. Once he moved to Perth, there was more commentary around his great attitude. They also extended his first contract...

List Mgmt. Draftee, NGA and Father/Son Discussion - 2025

I don't think it will be as easy as some hope, to generate another top 10 pick. Of the available options: - Gold Coast will be greedy and want to get a top 3 pick to get ahead of bids and grab another top prospect. Already reported they are interested in 2 for 8 and 16. No thanks. - St Kilda...

Bulldogs must think he is really ordinary, if they are replacing him with Jack Silvagni

I 100% agree with your POV. I just think it's the stupid shit this club would do.

I think it is likely we go 1 - Duursma 2 - CDT Hawks Pick - Farrow And this board will explode

List Mgmt. Draftee, NGA and Father/Son Discussion - 2025

I think Monocle has partly answered this but what is the plan with our 2 round 2 picks? I am assuming we are taking 3 round 1 picks and Banfield, Evans and one other NGA (all paid for with later picks or rookie). So are we planning on using the r2 picks in the draft or moving them to next...

What can we actually use all our dollarbucks for?

Always wondered why we have never asked / enquired about combining the Soft Cap and the TPP. In that we overspend on the Soft Cap and underspend in TPP but we don't go over a combined cap. Makes sense for the next few years as we don't have many players (except Harley) who will be demanding...

List Mgmt. Welcome Harley Reid (Pick 1, 2023 National Draft)

WRT the negative Vic media commentary. This isn’t the NBA or MLB, there is no long list of available quality players willing to come to us. We can’t Moneyball our way out of this (e.g. with 2 x 1 million dollar players instead of Harley). It’s just not possible in the AFL (especially for non...

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition

Logic says it's way too early to be having these discussions and them leaking to the media. But last years trade period has given a lot of posters PTSD. Maybe we are just feigning an interest in CDT 1 and selling pick 2 to GC to drive up the price for potential buyers. Surely we aren't...

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition

If Adelaide are happy to let ROB go, they would be pretty certain about picking up Draper. If that's the case, they will be getting zero compensation for losing ROB, so should be open to doing a reasonable trade. Obviously, would need to convince ROB to come, this is probably the hardest part.

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition

I assume we would have to give Erasmus, Phillips etc a minimum 3 year deal to come to us. For these type of recruits to provide good value over the medium term, they need to be versatile (play more than 1 role). That way when we want to give more inside midfield minutes to Harley, Hewitt...

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition

A Rd3 pick would be cheap, but couldn't see Freo letting him go for less than Hawthorn's Rd2? Would depend on his injury and if we thought we could get him fit.

Darcy from Freo is worth exploring (depending on a medical). From what I've heard, he's happy in WA so may be attainable. Just depends if Freo are happy to move him on cheaply.

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition

Not against Phillips as a cheap option, but how many of these failed high picks come good at their new clubs? Haven't watched enough of him, but is he a SPS, Paddy Dow, Cale Morton 2.0?

Coach Welcome to West Coast: Andrew McQualter

The club has been aware of the ruck issue for a number of years and has only recruited Flynn (as a mature option). We haven't given Mini an AFL standard ruck to work with. That being said, Mini has come from Richmond and Melbourne, both have good or excellent rucks. Does Mini know how to...

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition

The only way a Liam Ryan trade makes sense, is if it is to Gold Coast and they pay above market value. Pretty unlikely really, similar to the Bontempelli rumours.

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition

A lot can happen in 2 years. If Warner wanted to come home on a massive long term deal, this was his chance. I think this is similar to Tim English, we tried to trade for him in 2022 but he signed through to free agency, then when he became available as a free agent we lost interest and Freo...

    Rumour Noah Balta assault charges

I know this is anecdotal but... Friend of a friend assaulted an Uber driver (after a disagreement). Similar circumstances; (video footage of incident), first offence, not premeditated, family man and gainfully employed. He is currently serving his sentence in prison in WA. Maybe we have...

    List Mgmt. Contracts/Trade/Draft Thread - 2025 Edition

I view the ruck as part of the midfield. Having a ruck that can break even in hit outs and hit outs to advantage will make life a lot easier for our young mids. We can still use our high picks on midfielders and upgrade our ruckman with lesser picks (via trade).

Media Thread, 2025: Insightful, Inciteful and Incomptent

I think all the botox Jay Clark has injected into his face is affecting his brain. Was only 2 years ago his mate Ralph from the same rag was one of the main cheerleaders for North's assistance package.

Opinion Should the team ask for a Priority Pick 2025 edition.

I’m not too proud to ask for whatever assistance we can get. I’ll tell you why: I work with a Sydney supporter and a Carlton supporter. The Sydney supporter was complaining to the Carlton supporter about West Coast getting assistance / PPs. He actually said Carlton didn’t receive any PPs and...
