Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Feature a dangerous tackle in a highlight reel of best plays of the week and then, without notifying him or any other player in the league, start issuing suspensions for that type of tackle? I realise that you’re not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but surely even you can see the problem here?

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Ah good, so a tackle goes from awesome and applaudable to suspendable in a matter of weeks. Sounds like a totally reasonable way to run a sporting league.

Amon sucks so it would be a tough break for you guys if he is fit to play this weekend.

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

It’s really not. If they thought his tackling was a problem, they could have told him that and he could have taken steps to tackle different. Instead, based on your explanation here, we have to assume that the AFL saw him tackle dangerously twice, did nothing (so much for duty of care!), then...

AFL goes right to the heart of the matter - big guy tackling small guy.

I thought Cornes retired midseason because he had to start training as a firie. How long did that career last, about a week? Hope the South Australia Fire Service is happy that their investment in his training got them about one season worth of firefighting before he ditched it for a media career.

Lol, who would have "sorted out" a guy who's more than 2m tall and built like a brick shithouse?

*your And I thought you were going to bed.

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

You've got impressive powers of mind reading to know what Michael Christian is thinking as he's reviewing the video from this past weekend's match. Be honest mate, you're just talking out your arse. It's okay, we all do it every now and then.

You can't even see the other arm. I haven't seen any vision showing the other arm being pinned. That's nice. The club is out $10,000 if they challenge and lose. It's pretty clearly worth challenging given the insignificant sum of money and the controversy surrounding the suspension.

Ah so now we've moved on to intent - i.e., he "tried to drill a bloke head first into the deck." Yet Tom Mitchell didn't get suspended for trying to concuss Todd Goldstein with an elbow. Seems inconsistent.

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Except that wasn't referenced at all in the MRP statement, so you're just completely making this up.
  13. Ilkka Sinisalo

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

And what was the MRP analysis of that incident?
  14. Ilkka Sinisalo

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Considering that Christian's ban was predicated on Amon's arms being pinned, which they clearly weren't, that's the only reason they need to challenge. They could call as witnesses the various AFL players who have ridiculed the MRP decision after it was announced. Given that Nic Nat wouldn't...

Right. Where were those other similar tackles from this season? You seem to be struggling to find that video.

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Ah, so it was an accident, so all clear? Strange how that standard does not apply to Naitanui, who attempted to tackle an opponent front or side on, only to have that player turn at the last split second. Unless you are of the opinion that Naitanui was attempting to deliver a paralysing...

This post is so riddled with strawmen it should be reported to the fire marshal.

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Your concern about concussion and quadriplegia seems to be significantly reduced when it comes to Hawthorn players bumping opposing players in the head or attempting to elbow them in the face.
  19. Ilkka Sinisalo

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Literally nothing that happens on the football field carries a high risk of quadriplegia, most certainly not the tackle that was laid by Naitanui. Read an anatomy book.
  20. Ilkka Sinisalo

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Holy Christ, now we are talking about quadriplegia? You guys must be shitting your pants watching every game considering how many tackles, contests, marks, dives and other incidents could conceivably put players in a wheelchair.

    Besides the midfield, you mean?
  22. Ilkka Sinisalo

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Let me guess, you don’t have any examples nor do you have any video of other Nic Nat tackles this year which should be considered considered fineable or suspendable offences?
  23. Ilkka Sinisalo

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Lucky that Tom Mitchell doesn’t get held to the same standard for trying to elbow Todd Goldstein in the face.

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

There is a roughly zero percent chance that the non-Eagles supporters in this thread would have the opinion in favour of suspension if a key forward or ruckman from their side got rubbed out for a similar tackle on a little dude.

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Thanks, we've already established that it was in the back and should have been a free kick. You've also made a compelling argument that his tackling form was not perfect. What you've failed to do is identify the rule that should result in him being rubbed out for a week.
  26. Ilkka Sinisalo

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Yes a still shot clearly showing the arms not pinned have no bearing on a case which is predicated on the argument that the arms were pinned.

Nic Nats Report: Tribunal - Still pathetic/soft/inconsistent

Sandilands is too slow and uncoordinated to lay a tackle like this.
