Add Collingwood and their rat pack circa 2010-13 Maybe find the team that had an equal number of positive illicit drug tests as the Eagles around 2005-07 and investigate them Fremantle had known drug users like Johnson so better include them or they'll whinge about being left out **** it...

Why? Because players were using recreational drugs outside match day which aren't banned by WADA Makes sense

Play Nice West Coast drugs scandal - Report ITT

We're talking about recreational drugs which without a positive test or other proof they were used on match day don't trigger a ban. There's no such evidence Avoiding an ASADA drug test triggers a ban but no player was charged with this so unless you want to accuse the drug testers of being...

He's addressed the type of claims that Bartlett made plenty of times in the past so if a dinosaur like Bartlett can't educate himself on the difference between recreational and performance enhancing drugs or the distinction between match day and non match day it's hardly judds fault The fact is...

Play Nice West Coast drugs scandal - Report ITT

Well Robbo, let's start with the difference between a club conducting a systematic regime of injecting their entire playing group with a banned substance (PEDs) and a club that turned a blind eye/covered up poor behaviour from some of their playing group including the use of recreational drugs...

What you say is true but Kenneally would be close to the worst example you could use Grew up in a different country playing a different sport and lives in a different city on the opposite side of the country Judd failed to get an injunction?

Play Nice West Coast drugs scandal - Report ITT

Now only the most blinkered West Coast supporter will try to argue that the club couldn't have down more to address these issues at the time but the above is an important point. The club may well have doubted the honesty of the players when they were saying the stories weren't true, but the...

Luke Beveridge - You're an Idiot

Truth is that what happened at essendon could have just as easily happened at any one of the 17 other clubs. For all we know it did because the AFL culture is very much one of the players doing what they're told and following team rules. The reaction to the CAS decision has been illuminating...

Peter Gordon explores Swiss appeal and injunction on suspension

Agree with this and will add that in light of the decision by CAS, I think it's been exposed that it's not just the players that are terribly ignorant but many sections of the wider AFL industry including coaches, administrators (at club and league level) and media. I think most other players...

Peter Gordon explores Swiss appeal and injunction on suspension

Had the essendon players accepted the deal offered by ASADA, like the NRL players did, WADA wouldn't have got involved and they'd be playing this year Instead they refused to acknowledge that Dank gave them a banned substance (TB4) and knocked back the offer of a sweetheart deal The model...

Essendon fined $200,000 in Workcover case

Considering what Essendon have spent so far on this whole saga, $200k borders on being petty cash

Essendon fined $200,000 in Workcover case

$200k is still a mighty big fine when the players have suffered no demonstrable affects from the program (yet) Maximum penalties are often referred to but less often applied

Peter Gordon explores Swiss appeal and injunction on suspension

It was a one size fits all decision so it stands to reason some of the players may well have been hard done by, others less so How long would an appeal take to get heard?

Live Event James Hird live in concert (Interview now in OP)

Didn't watch the interview but read through this thread instead - fair to say it was probably far more entertaining than the interview. Couple of thoughts : Tracy Holmes would have been better off saying she had to use a pre-agreed set of questions that she couldn't stray from because if those...

Play Nice WADA v Essendon 34: Guilty, 2 Yr Susp. (backdated to Mar 2015). Affects 17 current AFL plyrs.

They're not all the same. Saad for example was a genuine one off screw up so 2 years was a massive penalty for a moment of stupidity. In other instances 4 years still isn't long enough. My point is that 4 year bans is a result of the Olympic cycle and that when comparing to other sports a 4...

By that logic a two year ban may well be enough to keep an athlete out of the Olympics. A three year ban almost certainly would A 4 year ban is there to ensure an athlete misses at least one Olympics There's a difference in the impact between Olympic and non Olympic athletes

    Hird to have his say

The question needs to be why do you think the players left details off their ASADA forms. If he's asked if he knew he can probably honestly say he didnt know

Agree with this. Vast difference between Olympic athletes who's main goal only comes around every 4 years and athletes who compete far more regularly
