Put simply if Vickery had responded with an elbow of his own to Cox nobody would be batting an eyelid. Instead he chose to take a roundhouse swipe (not a king hit) and struck Cox hard enough that he was knocked out and took no further part in the game -

On the night there was a genuine concern that Cox may have played his last game so emotion was high and there was an over reaction as a result I'm surprised that the reaction has continued until now particularly once it become apparent that Cox had no structural damage -

Elbows can hurt no question and it's possible cox did get him hard. Two things though - vickery was quite quick to get back into the ruck contest and didn't show any ill effects afterwards. Secondly the commentators seemed to think what cox did wasn't unusual I do agree with what others have... -

Seems about right. More than 4 weeks would be excessive. Even 4 is at the high end Don't like anyone playing for free kicks shuey included. It detracts from his game especially when he goes to ground and removes himself from the contest as a result. -

Mitch Morton's Hero antics needs addressing
He used to do that play on and kick the ball around the corner when he played for us as well. I'm sure that having missed a couple of set shots already that night he would have been nervous as hell lining up for the winning goal on a tricky angle - I wouldn't have put money on him kicking that... -
King how many weeks?
Doesn't appear to be any mention of King being charged and rightly so. Whilst he did make high contact I thought it was a legitimate attempt to spoil but in the process simply misjudged the flight of the ball.
