    Darcey Moore at Carlton?

Skippos what did the Recruiter(s) have to say about Waterman in terms of draft range (if not F/S)?

    2014 AFL Draft Prospects.

Yea but other clubs are still only going to bid a fair price for him, otherwise they could be left holding the baby. For example, if we were to finish 10th we would have draft pick 9. Say he is rated about 15th in the draft (as an example) it's unlikely one of the teams with a pick before us...

    2014 AFL Draft Prospects.

Probably depends on where we finish though? If we were 13th again (although I think this is unlikely) is it feasible that someone would bid a top 5 pick for him? If not then would only have to use a second pick

The 2013 Draft - Post Mortem

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Aliir Aliir is the first AFL player with the same first and last name. Henceforth referred to as Aliir, much like a Brazilian soccer player. If he ever gets a game......

2013 Draft - Risers, Sliders, Shocks, Locks, Who?

Yep I know, wasn't criticising. Just don't like it
  6. maverick001

2013 Draft - Risers, Sliders, Shocks, Locks, Who?

    And Josh Kennedy, Tarkyn Lockyer
  7. maverick001

2013 Draft - Risers, Sliders, Shocks, Locks, Who?

    Uurrrgh. That stinks
  8. maverick001

2013 Draft - Risers, Sliders, Shocks, Locks, Who?

But isn't this just the nature of stepping up from underage footy to AFL? i.e. every player faces the challenge of being able to perform against better opposition in the big league

2013 Draft - Risers, Sliders, Shocks, Locks, Who?

I think he is suggesting it will be more a case of Collingwood in the right place at the right time that resulted in Pies receiving pick 6, rather than a case of genius by Hine to come up with the trade, because it was the Eagles who approached Collingwood

    Daniel Cross (Melbourne)

    Oh yea forgot Vince
  11. maverick001

    Daniel Cross (Melbourne)

If it hasn't already been done, what do Demons supporters think their best 22 will now look like? Something like this? B: Garland Frawley Clisby HB: Terlich McDonald Grimes C: Watts Cross M.Jones HF: Howe Dawes Trengove F: Hogan Clark Tyson R: Gawn N.Jones Viney INT...

    Daniel Cross (Melbourne)

The difference being that Cross was and still is a much better player than Rodan. Cross was pushed out of Dogs for youth but still played good footy when selected. I don't see why they can't get two good years out of him, and his hardness is exactly what the Dees need to set an example. They...

Thomas > Franklin, Sylvia > Dal Santo

Why would there be more free agency activity if compo picks were removed?
  14. maverick001

Thomas > Franklin, Sylvia > Dal Santo

Not trying to bag your post, but when a player (e.g. Franklin) walks out on any team via free agency, it makes it very hard for that team (Hawks) to negotiate a trade because why would the new team (Swans) trade when they get him for nothing via FA. Case in point Dal Santo Anyway I think compo...

Heath Shaw is the bottleneck for this trade period

Yes I tend to agree with you, Gumby more likely to go for 54 rather than 33. He seems pretty intent on going and I can't see the Dockers caving and giving up 33. From what I've watched of White he does seem to provide a good ariel contest, maybe I need to watch more. Surely Pies keep their...

Heath Shaw is the bottleneck for this trade period

As a bit of an aside, does the (expected) drafting of Jesse White spell the end for the Q-Stick? I think it might. I think Pies are getting a good deal if the trade of pick 40 for White and Armstrong eventuates. White offers a lot more than Gumbleton, and it would seem somewhere around 40 is the...

Heath Shaw is the bottleneck for this trade period

and to add to your post, even if they do have more cap space it doesn't mean they want to pay overs for him because that still creates pressure further down the track.
  18. maverick001

Nick Dal Santo to North for...?

That smells a lot like draft tampering
  19. maverick001

    Xavier Ellis

That is hard to hear. Although at least we got a decent player in Hurn
  20. maverick001

    Pick 2

And also it seems there will be some pretty good talent left at 20, but at 27 the quality has dropped off quite a bit
  21. maverick001

    Pick 2

I don't rate Witts very highly, don't think he finds enough of the ball. So I wouldn't value him nearly as high as you do. Therefore I don't think he is worth the downgrade from 1 to 2 and 20 to 27, given the difference between Boyd and whoever goes at 2. With a few teams desperate for tall...

    Pick 2

Yes I do So GWS came all the way over here for him to tell them he doesn't want to play for them? Why bother with the trip
  23. maverick001

    Pick 2

I realised after I had posted that I had replied to the wrong post. Sorry, had no issue with your comments
  24. maverick001

    Pick 2

    GWS wouldn't do that surely
  25. maverick001

    Pick 2

Young blokes not yet drafted don't say they don't want to go to this club that club, its a terrible look
  26. maverick001

    Heath Shaw - GWS Bound?

But shaw is 3 yrs older than wellingham was, and comes with discipline problems. Dawes was just a bad trade by Demons. I think around 15-20 for Shaw is fair
  27. maverick001

    Pick 2

That would have been a wet dream for a Lions supporter
  28. maverick001

    Travis Varcoe

Pick 30 for someone really bullish. 35-50 realistically Heath Shaw in my opinion is a significantly better player than Varcoe. And with Varcoe's injury history I think the fact he is two years younger counts for nothing because he will be done before time.
  29. maverick001

    Pick 2

There is no chance we will trade Shuey for pick 2. None ....unless he has stated he wants to go home (in which case if we trade him this yr we get pick 2, but not if next yr when he comes out of contract)
  30. maverick001

Giants to offer Pick 1 for Fyfe?

There is 0 chance Freo would trade Fyfe for No. 1. Besides the fact Fyfe is a gun that you just don't trade, especially for a draft pick, there is the fact that it would kill their premiership window that is open at the moment. Also I would be very very surprised if Fyfe himself would agree to...
