    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

My team, from those nominated: Haynes - Andrews - Maynard Daniel - D.Moore - Ridley Macrae - Petracca - Guthrie Liam Ryan - Dixon - Dusty Papley - Hawkins - Butler Nic Nat - Boak - Neale Pendles - Steele - Luke Ryan - Danger Papley I thought long and hard, whenever I've watched him he seems to...

    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

I also am not sure how McCluggage gets in. I really like him and thinks he goes on to become a super player, but he just has too many quiet games to be in it I think. Only had 6 games of 20 possessions. Averaged under 19 disposals (18.7) and kicked 7.20 from 17 games. That is butchery! While...

    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

Zach Merrett a bit stiff? I don't love the Gunston selection.Ok his stats are good, just seems a very underwhelming option as a key forward target. Maybe I'm wrong though.

    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

Not much use looking at totals. Players who've played lots of games are going to have highest number of career clangers. Players who've played most games being the best players of course. Sorted by average clangers would be a much more useful . Oliver averaging 3.9 for career and even worse over...

    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

Well since you asked Einstein, I'm happy to oblige. Maybe you should have checked some stats before crying. Highest average intercept marks per game this season, and 33% higher than 3rd. And for career, very comfortably higher than everyone. Would also point out that, compared to the other top...

    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

Haynes - May - Sheppard Ryan - Andrews - Maynard Merrett - Petracca - Macrae Butler - Hawkins - Dusty Wallis - Kennedy - Papley Nic Nat - Boak - Neale Steele - Ridley - T Adams - Guthrie Toby Greene unlucky, would be in with more games. Maybe Charlie Cameron. Bont coming with some heat. Can't...

    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

McGovern is very good one-on-one. One of the best. Add his intercept marking which is number 1, and you've got the best defender in the comp, hence the 4 x All Aus in a row. There's a reason the oppo strategises around him. Also you hear about how he doesn't have an opponent. Well actually he...

    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

I would suggest that if he is tagging, while also winning a lot of the ball himself and kicking some goals, this adds to his credentials rather than damages them
  9. maverick001

A Lachie Neale Brownlow would be a disgrace.

Not to mention he has 50% more coaches votes than 2nd place. This is unheard of. He would be on track to smash coaches votes record if it were a normal length season. I imagine the coaches have a pretty good for who is damaging and who isn't. Petracca 37 and Dusty <23 prior to tonight. Not that...

    Rolling All Australian Team 2020

Brad Sheppard is one of the best defenders in the league. Extremely good one-on-one, has very few goals kicked on him despite usually taking the most dangerous small/medium forward, tough, finds the footy, uses it very well (rarely turns it over), and takes a very good mark and regularly...

In past seasons there has been 15,000-20,000. It won't be 4,000 - especially since we're not playing Richmond.

    Round 7 - Rising Star

Cunningham? I reckon Billings is still well in the hunt too. Can anyone direct me to a general Rising Star thread?

    Round 7 - Rising Star

I agree it is more likely to go to a mid, KK looks great in his role but we haven't really seen him win a lot of his own footy, gets a bit more of it in space. Aish is looking real good I think, getting it inside and out, pretty consistent, uses it well enough and is standing up in a weak team...

Mega Thread Buddy Franklin moves to Sydney

Does anybody wonder what the point of the AFL's concessions to support Sydney are? If it is, as we believe it to be, to ensure their continued competitiveness and to keep the Sydney market somewhat interested, I must ask the question why is this so important to the AFL? Who cares if Sydney are...

Mega Thread Buddy Franklin moves to Sydney

Yes it is. I think generally people aren't pissed off at Sydney the club, coz you can't blame them for utilising the advantage they have, any other club would do the same. Most people are pissed off at the AFL for allowing this allowance to continue long past it's used-by-date. However some of...

Mega Thread Buddy Franklin moves to Sydney

theta, you argue that the proof that Sydney's success in the last 10 years is not due to COLA, is that they have had success. Makes no sense, this is a circular argument. Their success is not the reason for their success: -Played more finals then any other team since 96. CIRCULAR -Missed...

Mega Thread Buddy Franklin moves to Sydney

Exactly. Each players' cost of living may be $50-100k per year. Anything over this they are banking or other investment. Your returns on your investment is the same in any state. If we assume the average players' cost of living is $50k per year, and assume Sydney is 10% more expensive (which I...

    2013 All Australian Team Announcement

Good to see Sam Mitchell there (although I think he should be in midfield). The best user of the footy in the comp I think which is sometimes overlooked

    2013 All Australian Team Announcement

Disagree. Swan is phenomenal. May have been an average year (meaning normal but not greay) by his standards, but still very very good. I don't think he should be measured against his personal best, rather should be measured against others' years. I can't think of a player who should be in before him
