I find that an actually terrifying concept. Do human bodies even work that way???

City2Surf. Lovely weather. I hate being a little bit injured  On the upside, my body is stupid and allowed me to ignore my aches for a good 40 minutes before it started to insist...

Never run a half-marathon if you've 'almost' shaken off that bug you picked up at work. My advice for the day!

Aus Running Festival half-m next weekend. It won't be pretty, but I'll get there. 5k time steadily improving but I've been very lax with getting in longer runs. This got a mention at parkrun, for anyone who's interested...

After a few weeks of focused exercises, my hips and glutes have started to remember what their job is. Wheeee. Hooray for body parts that take instructions.

20km this morning in two hits of 10km. Ugh :( even some of my owies have owies. Why did I agree to doing that???

    Coles bs ice creams

Home brand stuff is pretty much always a gamble. Some of it is perfectly good if not better than the alternatives, others just flat out awful. Unfortunately the only way to find out is suck it and see.

Right, I'm in. This has been a slack year for me running-wise, but I did City2Surf on the weekend and the urge to run seems to still be there! Hopefully having you guys to compare against will awaken the speedy beast.

Canberra Times 10km this weekend... how am I supposed to drink to dull the pain of an election and then back up into a decent 10k time the next morning??? Tis not fair.

Food, Drink & Dining Out Junk food confessional

Even by my 'flexible' standards, finishing off 10 pieces of KFC and two large chips between dinner and lunch the next day was probably not a good idea.

2:05 for the Canberra Half on the weekend. 10 mins slower than last year, but I've learned the important lesson that preparation really does matter. My legs told me to GAGF at about the 16k mark and suddenly all those missed opportunities for some extra training came flooding back to mind...

Getting faulty furniture replaced... no receipt

That's just one big metaphor for Harvey Norman as a business, isn't it?

    Travel Japan

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_Metropolitan_Government_Building Definitely worth it. You have to go through a security bag check (because it's a govt building) but the view is great.

    Travel Japan

I was over there when one of the six(?) major sumo tournaments of the year was on, and it made for surprisingly addictive TV to watch the best of them in action after a day of sightseeing.

    Travel Japan

Went there with friends in 2011. Hakone was a bit touristy, but hey, I was a tourist! (And c'mon, where else are you going to ride on a pirate galleon in Japan?) Hiroshima was also great - we stayed on Miyajima Island (gorgeous in its own right) and were just a quick ferry and train away from...

    Travel Coral Bay (W.A)

Went there on a diving trip about 15 years ago. Left Perth in the middle of a miserable winter and spent a week in gorgeous sunshine checking out the marine life. Amazing place, but, as noted, a real bugger to get to.

    Smarties or MnM's?

Are you mad??? Peanut Butter M&M's are like candy crack!!!

Home & Garden I have admitted defeat.

I don't mind gardening. But I do hate mowing the lawn :( Fortunately half of my lawn is plastic and is just no good at growing :D

Furniture Order Delayed - Do I Have Rights

Well yes, maybe 'threats' is a little harsh. But a friendly but firm attitude does necessitate knowing what your rights are and making it clear to the company that you expect your rights to be respected.

Furniture Order Delayed - Do I Have Rights

You have rights, I'm thinking e.g. misleading or deceptive conduct under the Trade Practices Act. Threats of reporting them to the South Australian fair trading body and the ACCC would get the ball rolling.

    SKINS - Compression garments.

+1 yes, although I can't actually provide a great reason for why....

    Moving to Canberra

One good thing: traffic (or rather the total lack thereof, relative to other cities).

Is it too late to change your mind? Canberra's not bad...but it's not for everyone.

Could Hungry Jack's be in trouble for thier latest Burger release?

And the other 10% now think it's minced Scotsman.

Could Hungry Jack's be in trouble for thier latest Burger release?

Somehow I'm pretty sure that HJ's looked into the legal angle before they went for it. (and the ads are less annoying than Michael Caton or that faux-waiter git, so they're already ahead with me!)

    Rental lease

Have a look in the lease for terms related to your right to 'quiet possession'/possession without interference/whatever it is called. That's your right to not have your neighbours pissing you off in your own place and is probably a good option if you really want an out.

    'Fun Runs'

http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2009/10/12/1255195736689.html 5k and 10k were short, half and full marathons were correct.
