    VFL flags don't count.

    150 year birthday. Don't cut short the history of the game. With the national competition, salary cap and draft all beginning at the same point, I think it's fair to say flags won before this point hold very little weight compared to modern flags.

    I don't agree with any of this. The VFL was broke, and expansion needed to occur to avoid half the clubs disappearing. They weren't in any rush to do so before that point. And they should be greatful that the money they recieved from licensing fees helped prop up several VFL clubs, although...
