  1. Altum Volantes

Past player - Karl Langdon (1988-1995)

His pressure across half forward was great....also he almost took marks and almost kicked goals...;)
  2. Altum Volantes

Past player - Ashley Sampi (2002-2007)

In hindsight...probably a victim of the times at the club...
  3. Altum Volantes

Past player - Chad Jones (2007-2008)

One of those forwards who looked and moved like a ruckman...was never AFL standard.
  4. Altum Volantes

Past player - Murray Wrensted (1987-1988)

    Totally Balantyned that final kick!
  5. Altum Volantes

Past player - Daniel Metropolis (1992-2000)

I remember that first game - we'd got done by THE SYDNEY SWANS the week before to open our year and I thought 1991 had all been a giddy dream. Suma was out injured and out comes Metropolis and dobs 6 on debut. Premiership dream alive!...and then he faded, and we drew with Brissie Bears a couple...
  6. Altum Volantes

Past player - Derek Hall (1991-1993)

Old style Utility. Jack of all trades, master of none. Carved out decent career at Geelong though.
  7. Altum Volantes

Past player - Damian Hampson (1992-1994)

Just come to me - didn't he quite badly break his leg during 93 or 94? He was a good WAFL player in his later years, probably would have had a longer career in this day and age as he was a talented junior.
  8. Altum Volantes

Past player - Damian Hampson (1992-1994)

I remember his first game against Sydney....20 years....jesus.
  9. Altum Volantes

Past player - Guy McKenna (1988-2000)

Awesome player. He's somehow become underrated in retrospect but he was one of the top 10-20 players in the league for the majority of the 90s. I have a soft spot for GC these days, hope he does well.
  10. Altum Volantes

Past player - Nick Stone (1997-2000)

He was also our first player to get pinged for recreational drug use... He played some half decent footy for us but was ultimately short of AFL standard.
  11. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Phil Narkle (1987-1988, 1990-1991)

Memory might be failing me but he was still on our list in 91 I think?
  12. Altum Volantes

Past player - John Annear (1987-1990)

It'd probably be quicker than getting through the Great Eastern Hwy road works in recent times..
  13. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Michael Collica (2001 - 2004)

Played good footy for us in 2001 - was a bit of a spare parts man come 2002 and just no place beyond then.
  14. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Andrew McDougall (2001 - 2006)

Having posted here for almost 10 years (mmm depressing..), I remember a time that plenty of the characters around here thought he was the missing piece in our next flag. Heh.
  15. Altum Volantes

Past player - Glen Bartlett (1987)

He's like the reverse Mitch Brown.... 'You're Best Clubman!...........and also, cut. Bye!'
  16. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Laurie Bellotti (1998 - 2000)

Was Lynchy before Lynchy was cool...
  17. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Scott Watters (1989 - 1992)

Played his best game for us vs The Dogs on a soaking wet day in 1992. We got badly beaten given the conditions and Watters kicked a couple of goals (I think we might have only got about 3 all game?? was not many!) He was rather bitter at being squeezed out at WCE and his post football - pre...
  18. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Chris Mainwaring (1987 - 1999)

Can't believe it's been 5 years. Still gets me down. What a horrible time that was for the club.
  19. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Todd Holmes (1998 - 2000)

Was a decent WAFL player at Subi, never really got a run for WCE - probably would have cracked a game in 2001 if he'd hung on for another year.
  20. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Brayden Lyle (1993 - 1996)

Played some good footy from us but was great for Port in their early years. He got the most out of his career I think.
  21. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Daniel McConnell (2004 - 2005)

Was over rated by fans around here (think Koby Stevens), but the guy never really showed much either way and we got great value when he decided he wanted out. AND they took McKinley eventually too...is he still there?
  22. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Peter Wilson (1990 - 1995)

Re: Past player of the week - Peter Wilson Peter Wilson was a dead set gun! Too often forgotten. As mentioned, him and Boris patrolling across HFF, hard as nails!
  23. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Tony Godden (1993 - 1995)

Re: Past player of the week - Tony Godden Ok player, didn't have the class to break into that team though.
  24. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Jaxon Crabb (1998 - 2000)

Re: Past player of the week - Jaxon Crabb I think he was unlucky to get drafted when he did, it was a transition period for the club. Would have been given longer in this and age.
  25. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Stevan Jackson (1989 - 1991)

Re: Past player of the week - Stevan Jackson My favourite player...circa 1989...
  26. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Travis Gaspar (2000 - 2006)

Re: Past player of the week - Travis Gaspar This guy! Got his tyres pumped up massively on BF when the majority finally realized Andrew McDougall was not going to lead us to glory! Never fit and never really showed much anyway. None factor in the 2005 GF, proof that you can't drop your...
  27. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Don Pyke (1989 - 1996)

Re: Past player of the week - Don Pyke Easily our most under rated player ever - not within the club obviously but at a national level. The guy was Brett Kirk before Brett Kirk, he was a real pioneer in his position and a total gun to boot. You don't win a B&F at the Eagles in the 1990s (and...
  28. Altum Volantes

    Past player - Mark Merenda

Re: Past player of the week - Mark Merenda Once took an absolute speccy sitting on Guy McKenna's head while he was with the Tiges. Pretty sure it was Bluey's 200th? On a Monday night I think. We got thrashed.
  29. Altum Volantes

    Best #7 since 1987

3 1 time All Australian players in the #7. Closest contest easily of these numbers threads. Each had a great peak in form, but all dropped away some what beyond that. Turley was red hot in 1991, Gehrig was a gun youngster and grabbed an AA in 1997 and Fletcher's 2004 was excellent. I'll go...
  30. Altum Volantes

    Best #2 since 1987

Best #7 would be a harder call I reckon. Turley, Gehrig, Fletch..
