    Chol concusses Stewart

3 weeks for Chol. Puts it in line with Curtis' suspension, so they're consistent at least.

    Cam Rayner Dive

150m away? Pretty sure I've seen similar stuff happen and they just reverse where the ball is. Could be wrong, I guess.
  3. bzparkes

    Cam Rayner Dive

No, that's exactly what should've happened. In fact, that's what's supposed to happen in this instance. Umpire lost the plot.

    Sounds good to me :thumbsu:

    Cam Rayner Dive

If you turn your back to the ball and push them over, you run the risk of a free kick being paid against you. Happens all the time.

Jon Ralph hates interstate clubs far more than he hates Geelong.
  7. bzparkes

    Cam Rayner Dive

You mean the one where Stewart had his back to the ball and pushed Lohmann over?
  8. bzparkes

    Cam Rayner Dive

The thing is, nobody will care, especially when half the commentators last night were Geelong supporters, or ex-players. It was a bad decision from the ump, kind of funny but had no impact on the result, unlike when Zac Bailey should've got a kick for HTB down at Kardinia to win the game after...

    Cam Rayner Dive

Everyone remembers Selwood ducking his entire career. Adam(RIP) did it also. Shuey did duck for a few seasons and copped a lot of flack for it but the action wasn't much different to what Selwood did, he just didn't have the privilege of Vic media playing defence for him. The difference being...

    Cam Rayner Dive

Only when they do it their entire career, like Selwood. Nobody's going to remember, or care, the one time an ump got sucked in and gave away 2 goals in a final Rayner's team didn't even get close to winning.

    Cam Rayner Dive

Maybe by Geelong supporters. Nobody else will even care, let alone remember it.
  12. bzparkes

    Cam Rayner Dive

Maybe not off the ball but he ducked and dived like a true champion in the '23 GF.

MRP / Trib. De Goey bump in Qualifying Final

Anyone expect anything different from the corrupt former Collingwood player MRO?

MRP / Trib. Newcombe hit on Howe

Old mate's head will explode. On the one hand, it's Newcombe who could be in trouble, on the other, it happened to a player from his favourite team.
  15. bzparkes

MRP / Trib. Newcombe hit on Howe

After looking at it, it looks more like Howe ran into Newcombe at full pace and came off second best. Newcombe appeared to be slowing down to contest the ball as he saw Howe coming and Howe just didn't slow whatsoever.

Tom Stewart collision with Ollie Wines

Great, so AFL has proven their corruption/ineptitude is real and owe Alex Witherden a written apology.
  17. bzparkes

Tom Stewart collision with Ollie Wines

I also thought Maynard's was a football incident and it's not like they suspended him for it.
  18. bzparkes

Tom Stewart collision with Ollie Wines

Well, there wasn't any malicious intent in my opinion but the AFL set the precedent by changing the rules and then suspending Witherden so if he gets off, the issue will be with the AFL(as usual) and not Stewart/Geelong.
  19. bzparkes

Tom Stewart collision with Ollie Wines

Don't think he meant anything by it but considering the rule was changed to prevent exactly this after Maynard v Brayshaw, and with Witherden was suspended for doing the exact same thing with less impact, this should be the 'easiest' decision Christian has ever made...

    Steven May hits Francis Evans

He also didn't elect to bump either, just ran in a straight line.
  21. bzparkes

    Steven May hits Francis Evans

Lol, no. Unsure how to arrived at that conclusion because your 'gotcha' was very badly thought out. Dumb statement. May's intention was clearly to go for the ball. Accidents happen in contact sports.
  22. bzparkes

    Steven May hits Francis Evans

So just don't go for the ball? Got it. What the hell kind of question is this? Of course he wouldn't, because it'd be his teammate going for the ball. Duh.
  23. bzparkes

    Steven May hits Francis Evans

You can't tell if you're going to be late in .1 of a second.
  24. bzparkes

    Steven May hits Francis Evans

He didn't do anything other than straight-line the ball. Shit happens sometimes.
  25. bzparkes

    Steven May hits Francis Evans

So just give up on the ball because you might hurt someone? Time to remove all contact then.
  26. bzparkes

    Steven May hits Francis Evans

Look up 'height difference' and you'll understand why this happened.
  27. bzparkes

    Steven May hits Francis Evans

Gee David King is an idiot on this. "May had a duty of care and should've pulled out well before." Where was Evans' duty of care to May?
  28. bzparkes

Tom Stewart bump on Noah Anderson

It was marked as 'Severe', despite Wilson not hitting his head and not going off the ground. Which contradicts their own ruling for 'Severe' impact.
  29. bzparkes

Tom Stewart bump on Noah Anderson

Well they only suspended Reid last year because they gave it a 'severe' grading, despite their own rules stating his tackle wasn't, so clearly they're happy to bend them when they see fit.
