News AFL Tribunal appeals board upholds Houston's 5 Week Suspension

Houston absolutely hits him high at the first instance. 6 weeks is the right outcome IMO.

MRP / Trib. MRP and Tribunal - 2024 - Grand Final

The game was cooked when Reid received two weeks for a tackle that didn't cause an injury to the player he was tackling. At least Cameron actually caused a head injury with his tackle.

MRP / Trib. Parker cleaning a bloke up in the magoos

Based on the arguments, pretty clear 6 week suspension for mind and I say that being a fan of Luke Parker.

Strike that's a twisted take on reality.

Maynard cleared by tribunal for Brayshaw collision

Well then you have nothing to worry about and it's all semantics. However, I look forward to you returning to this thread to rage out if that doesn't occur in due course.

It's Miller Time on Dayne's Nuts

As long as you don't read it in Dwayne's voice. Stuff like "Oh baby!" MRP / Trib. De Goey hit on Elijah Hewett

360 had Lewis on there (instead of Robbo). Lewis said 3-4, probably 3. They didn't blame Hewett for the hit, at least.

MRP / Trib. De Goey hit on Elijah Hewett

Impact would have to be considered severe, wouldn't it? I don't think it can be considered less in the circumstances.

MRP / Trib. De Goey hit on Elijah Hewett

It would likely be classed as severe, which does mean the starting point is 3 weeks. Then whatever the tribunal wants to apply from there.

What rule would you Add/Remove/Change to improve the game?

Anything to dissuade players from rushing a behind. For instance penalising players waiting for opposition players to come into the goal square area only to then rush the ball. That and penalising forwards and ruckmen for excessive scragging on the goal line. Anything that would go in a marking...

Umpiring The Umpiring Dissent Rule - Discuss Here

I remember one game in local U17s game when I received a 50m penalty against me for simply glaring at the umpire. That was about 17 years ago, so was simply absurd at the time, but maybe not so much anymore.

    McGovern reported

I think you have made the assumption that because I am a West Coast supporter I would invariably want for McGovern to get off any charges. I have no issues with the AFL handing down a one week suspension for McGovern's action. However, I believe that the reason for the suspension should be on...

There is absolutely no evidence of a "second action". If you don't want to hear that, then fine, we'll let reality be subjective.

    McGovern reported

I'm not sure how you believe that what you are posting is accurate. There is less than a second between Guelfi disposing of the ball and the impact from McGovern. Further, McGovern reaches Guelfi while he is either inside or on the boundary line and is committed to disrupting the Essendon play...
  21. eaglespremiers

    McGovern reported

The push happened a split second after Guelfi disposed of the ball. By all previous determinations ("cough" Ablett "cough") this should be deemed in play. Further your freeze frame seems to emphatically indicate that the push occurred almost exactly on the boundary line. I'm not sure how your...
