Recommitted Harley Reid [extends contract to 2028!]

I'd much rather he go to any of the 16 other clubs for nothing than to Geelong for any picks or players that are proposed.

Seriously is there something wrong with you?

The poster had McKercher as best on. I mean, I wouldn't rate his opinion tbh.

What an absolute nonsense opinion. To extract Harley this season will require two top 5 picks minimum. Anything less and we may as well fold.

Recommitted Harley Reid [extends contract to 2028!]

Don't get me wrong I'd take keeping Harley over two top 5 picks, in a heartbeat, but if he wants to go I think that is reasonably what we'll be asking for in compromised drafts.

That's fine, then if Geelong aren't prepared to stump up I don't know why they would bother persuing him, certainly not this year. I think we will reasonably set a price of two x top 5 picks for him. If Geelong's best offer is what you suggest I'd rather lose him to any other club for nothing.

Traded Liam Baker - Now a West Coast Eagle

    You're a bit of a narcissist, aren't you.

Traded Liam Baker - Now a West Coast Eagle

That's still really horrible from a West Coast perspective.

Sensible call. Also Baker would compliment a competing team well (i.e. Fremantle). West Coast shouldn't be offering anything close to what Fremantle is purportedly offering.

I haven't seen a single proposal from a Richmond supporter on here (or the board's draft thread) that wasn't horrendous for us. And I know I'm in the vast majority of West Coast supporters on here who hold this opinion. But apparently we just have to bend over and take it. Other supporters...

I think Saints would be getting our early 2nd or even a F1st (of Hawthorn or Carlton) back in such a trade.

One step you've missed. WC 8 -> GWS 15 & 16 WC 16 -> Rich Baker I could probably live with that give that we retain picks 7 and 15, and that is more than equitable for Baker to Richmond. Also I hope that a future 2nd (either ours or one we pick up in a trade with Hawthorn) is the pick we...

Gee you're being antagonistic this afternoon.

Hopefully if that is Hathorn's philosophy West Coast decides that they're wasting their time and don't speak to Hawthorn again for the rest of the trade period.

Carlton would need to add another top 15 pick to make it worth it for us. Don't have much currency left to get one though.

    Why do you.....? Ah,

Traded Liam Baker - Now a West Coast Eagle

I don't think it's the value apportioned to Baker that is the issue, it's how mind-bogglingly idiotic such a trade would be for West Coast this off-season. It would demonstrate a clear inability for our List Management team to properly understand where West Coast are at and what they require in...

I think it's fair to say that he has outperformed Mackenzie to this point and I can assure you I am Mackenzie's biggest fan. I fully expect Mackenzie to be the better player in the long run. For what its worth I would definitely accept Mackenzie in the trade for Barrass.

I would prefer to get Travaglia than Allan TBH.

Weird take, particularly if the rumours about Wardlaw being unwilling to leave Victoria were true. If you look at the top 20 picks that year Ginbey is one of the better selections. He has clearly outperformed Tsatas, Mackenzie, Clark, Hollands, Busslinger, Jefferson, Rowston, Allen and Knostanty...

    Traded Tom Barrass & 2025 F4 (WCE) traded to Hawthorn for 2025 F1, F2 & F3 (all Haw)

It honestly doesn't matter what this trade is tbh. If the reports are true and we're going to forward your pick on to Richmond for Baker then we're losing this trade period by a huge margin. Barrass is a significantly better player than Baker and much more valuable as a key position. The...

Wellingham was recruited after the 2012 season when we had just lost a relatively close semi-final. We were in a different position and it was perceived that the we were on the up-and-up (and we made a Grand Final in Wellingham's 3rd season with us). For the record I think Baker is a better...

That example you responded to was not mine, but another poster on the West Coast board. It's worth pointing out that the proposal he put forward was not very well received by posters on the West Coast board. I have taken a further step in favour of Richmond with my proposed trades. Obviously...

Traded Liam Baker - Now a West Coast Eagle

For this exercise I'm going to assume that the trade for Barrass will end up being pick 13 + F1st for Barrass plus F2nd. I'm also assuming that Bolton nets Richmond picks 9 and 16 (pick 16 is incidental to the trades proposed and shall be retained by Richmond) and that Rioli nets Richmond pick 6...

Traded Josh Battle - Joins Hawthorn as UFA

Gee, St Kilda seems like a toxic place to be employed at. Reminds me of my recent employment and the send off they gave me despite being their most productive employee by some margin for the previous 8 years.
