Welcome Welcome to St Kilda - James Barrat!

You've taken my two favourite players in this year's draft. James' is truly a fantastic person and the Pioneer I've enjoyed most interacting with this year.

Welcome Welcome to St Kilda - Tobie Travaglia!

Forgive the intrusion. I've had a lot to do with Tobie this year. Please see a social media post and video I created for Tobie:

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

Before this all goes down I hope you guys don't have to fork out too much for Brown. I'm not sure how desperate you are but I know how frustrating it'll be if you cough up something big for him. Good luck for the last hour and a half.

You are usually pretty accurate. Is the suggestion being that West Coast get Cripps + Hooker. Saints get Brown. And Essendon gets a pick in the 20s + a later pick (maybe)?

If it a trade of Brown for Hooker and Cripps then I'll be happy. Some West Coast supporters will have to get use to having Hooker on our list though.

Darn trade week.... um, I mean "trade period".

I'm sure meetings between the clubs would go down differently in 12 months time. But I'm not sure St Kilda can wait that long, can you?

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

I am well aware of how is rated at St Kilda. He should be a good player. My point was purely in discussing other key backs like Delaney. If Brown goes for us then we will probably look at Bower, but the two aren't comparable ATM.

What do you think you'll offer for Brown?
  13. eaglespremiers

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

But that is not what I am saying, that he should wait. I'm merely pointing out that a St Kilda supporter suggesting that you'll get someone better with the picks you have is unlikely, possible, but unlikely. Plus Brown is ready to go now. He would be in our team if either of Mackenzie or Glass...

Certainly Cripps has attributes that are lacking in our squad. Whereas Stevens is good in a particular area where (though we aren't great) we have good players in already.

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

Well I'm going to mix it up and say, before the trade, that Cripps looks like he could be a really good player. Perhaps better than Brown. But, as he has advised you that he is leaving and because you are in dire need of a key back their value does not align in the eyes of West Coast management.

I have never stipulated that I think this will be an outcome.

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

I am not trying to sell Brown to you but the fact that we see him as a replacement for Glass upon retirement should suggest how highly he is rated at West Coast. He should be a very good fit at St Kilda, were he to be traded to you guys.

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

One would've thought so but then he resigned, for three years, I think. Would suggest we have plans for him, one suggestion was in the midfield.

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

Would people on here be satisfied with giving up Cripps + mid-20s pick? I realise it is not the optimum amount from a Saints perspective and not equal but do you just bite the bullet?
  22. eaglespremiers

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

As far as I understand he is contracted. Uncontracted would make a difference. Selecting us will make a difference. We'll see.
  23. eaglespremiers

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

Hooker for Stevens is a perfectly adequate trade for West Coast. But I doubt whether Essendon would agree to a straight swap. Hooker is contracted, Stevens is not. Hooker is best 22, Stevens is not. Hooker is key position, Stevens is not.

Discussion 2012 List Management: De-Listings, Trades, Drafting & Free Agency

Not sure Essendon would see it that way. You'd have to also throw in one of your shiny mid-20 picks you have to Essendon. Plus Stevens has nominated Bulldogs. Sure, the delistment of Lonergan would help him gain a position in the 22. But not that much.

He acquitted himself quite well as the no. 1 defender in the first half of the year. He is actually quite quick but I believe he has lost some of his pace post-injury last year. Hard to tell whether he will recover fully but would be a versatile 2nd key back behind Mackenzie.
