    Prediction 2024 Number changes

Eth-dog is right, the maximum is 44 players not counting inactive players. This includes 36/37/38 on the senior list, the balance up to 42 (ie 6/5/4) on the Cat A rookie list and two Cat B rookies. The reasons some lists were over that limit for 2023 were: Teams could move players to the...

Recruiting EFC Trade/Draft Talk II with F/A rules in OP - Billings for a fourth rounder the latest rumour

Trades and free agents don't count. It used to be three additions through the draft, then the rules changed to include rookie elevations.

Need to make three changes to the senior list, including rookie upgrades.

They don't get a choice, they have to follow the current rules. A few clubs went into 2014 with only 38 senior players, e.g. Carlton and Sydney, if that's what you're asking. I should say, the only reason I stuck my head in was to see whether you needed to delist one more guy.

Yep. Veteran status only matters for salary cap purposes now, not list size.

Vets don't come into it any more, but teams can elect to go in up to two players short on their senior list (i.e. 38 or 39) and have extra rookie listers to make up the difference.

2011 Official Trade/Delisting Discussion Thread II

It's certainly fairer than the old system, which allowed Geelong to get a consensus top-5 player in Tom Hawkins with a pick in the 40s. Under the above scenario, if Daniher really is a top-5 player then it's pretty reasonable to expect you guys to use pick 11 on him. You're still getting a...

2011 Official Trade/Delisting Discussion Thread II

Good thinking, but the father-son nominations occur before any trading. If, for the sake of the example, you finished 8th again next year and got pick 11, and one of the non-finals teams bid their top 10 pick on Daniher, you'd be locked in to taking him with pick 11 (or you'd pass him up and...

Yeah we've also got guys like Blayne Wilson and Jacob Brennan waiting in the wings, so Hardingham would just be added to a fairly large logjam. To be fair to him, he'd be right up the front of it... I don't particularly want to lose Stevens but we may be in a similar boat, in that he gets...

I like Hardingham but don't think we have a need for him - we've got a fair few mid-sized defenders coming through. Colyer I'd be pretty interested in for the right deal. Something involving Koby Stevens maybe? How are you placed for inside mids? We'd probably have to throw in a bit of a...

Yeah he was, form wasn't fantastic leading in and unfortunately for him we had almost a full squad to pick from (except Rosa). Hard to know what to make of the media noise. He's out of contract, a little out of favour and both clubs in his home state are in desperate need of some ready-made...

Or that. There's certainly other clubs that would be in more pressing need of Gunston than you guys.

Maybe Gunston and their second rounder (~34) for pick 19 and your second rounder (~41)?

No I didn't! You blokes were saying we were dead keen on him, I said we might be interested if he wanted to come home but probably wouldn't go chasing him. We passed him over (along with Duncan) in favour of Weedon and Stevens so the club probably doesn't rate him super-highly. Or didn't two...

Freo's first rounder is probably going to end up at Brisbane for Clark I'd say.

Colyer's a promising-looking young player and I'm sure we'd be keen if he expressed an interest in coming back to WA. I doubt the club would be looking to sell the farm to get him, though.

    2011 Jumper Numbers Announced

Re: Jumper numbers Forgive the intrusion. Wikipedia has the following: 21 - Browne 24 - Davis 25 - Steinberg 27 - Heppell 38 - Ross 43 - Hibberd 46 - Jenkins 47 - Webster Is that likely to be official, or just someone's best guess?
