List Mgmt. Christmas comes early (Nov 28 - 19 sleeps) - Draftee discussion

Ideal trade/draft period imo Pass on Jackson: Not worth spending our draft capital on one player, the list is in dire need of lots of young talent. Pass on Meek: Awkward trade value, don't think he can play with NN, can't see him being happy as a back up. Trade Rioli for a 2nd rounder...

Tsatas and Wardlaw tick those boxes out of the top prospects.

List Mgmt. Contract, Trade & Draftee Discussion - 2022 Off Season Edition

I know Jeremy Sharp has a few knocks on him but i reckon he's worth the risk. 3 years in the system, elite runner and pretty quick as well. If he play's purely as a wingman i'm not too concerned about his inside game. Not sure what he's worth? Maybe a straight swap for pick 26 or a trade...

Robertson is a similar player to Greg Clark imo. Would prefer to give Clark opportunity's next year and use our second rounders on the draft.

I don't think you can play Nic and Bailey in the same team though, they don't complement each other very well. If we start Nic next year we should play an extra key defender or forward, letting one of Gov, H.Edwards or Waterman chop out in the ruck.

Nic is still worth his weight in gold, for hit outs, centre clearances, contested ball, tackling and him scaring the shit out of opposition players. I thought between rounds 1-4 he was covering the ground pretty well. The knee injury robbed him of all his conditioning.

List Mgmt. Contract, Trade & Draftee Discussion - 2022 Off Season Edition

To get another first rounder in next years draft we could potentially package up pick 26 and the Rioli pick and trade back from 2 to 5-8. I think it would be worth doing at this stage a lot of the players projected past pick 20 seem speculative at best. 5-8 would leave us with one of Phillipou...

I agree but i would still like a player of that mould. Watching Holmes, Duncan, Smith and Blicavs run through Geelong's midfield who are elite runners show's you which way the games going. If Cowan, K.Ryan, Dowling etc.. aren't rated by our recruiters that's fine and i understand that. Wardlaw...

We will need to draft an elite runner with our second rounder if we pick Wardlaw with 2. If he's a good two way runner he could be an option. Other players of that ilk i can see from 20 to 38 are Kobe Ryan and Cowan.

Anyone got info on Max Gruzewski? From what iv'e read, 193cm good contested mark apparently missed the carinal through knee injury. Predicted to go around our pick in the 20's. Could be a good third tall up forward or down back.

Each to their own Personally feel like Phillipou has a similar ceiling to the top 3 in this draft so i would be ok with trading down for the right deal Heading into next years draft with 2 first rounders would certainly aid our rebuild as well

List Mgmt. Rioli to Port Discussion

Yes Rioli is worth a 2nd rounder so it's the equivalent of packaging up two 2nd rounders for a first in a much stronger draft. 2 down to 8 in this draft would leave us with a choice between Phillipou or Clark either would be very good.

    Thoughts? Out - Rioli, Pick 2, Pick 26 In - Pick 8, Future 1st

Don't see them parting with pick 8 unless we offer way overs.

Primarily, but he's got forward craft as well. 3 goals vs GWS and 5 goals in the WAFL a couple years ago.

Him or Toby Bedford could be alright on the cheap.

Winder could potentially play Rioli's role next season. Half forward rotating through midfield.

List Mgmt. Contract, Trade & Draftee Discussion - 2022 Off Season Edition

If we lost Rioli for a second rounder, we could potentially target Toby Bedford who's shown a bit this year. Then look to recruit a half forward in the draft: Brayden George, Darcy Jones and Konstanty would all be around our second pick.

Got pace, can play inside/outside. Ticks a lot of boxes.

List Mgmt. Contract, Trade & Draftee Discussion - 2022 Off Season Edition

Would we be more inclined to take Tsatas with pick 2 if we traded for Robertson? We'd have Culley, Robertson, Redden, Clark, L.Edwards, Yeo and Sheed as inside midfield options if we brought him in. Also I wouldn't be splitting our picks unless we got an offer that was to good to refuse like 2...

I'd probably rather Naish over Foley or Langdon. At least he brings some run to the side, at his best he's better than both of those players. His biggest weakness for me is how soft he is. Shirk's nearly every contest and can make poor decisions under pressure.

Do you think if George slid to pick 38 it would be worth the risk?

Wardlaw would fix our inside midfield issues (if he stays fit) Sheezel is considered the most talented in the draft pool and has potential to develop into a goal kicking mid Phillipou potentially has the greatest upside and is a dual position player, could start half forward for us first year...

Agree it's a risk. I'd like the club to have enough faith in themselves to get his body right though. There's been plenty of times mids have had injuries in there draft years and had great careers. Judd's shoulder injury which we fortunate enough to benefit from and Selwood's knee injury which...
