    That’s Essendon’s prerogative but as a neutral that’s objectively well over the top. Pick 9 and a good young mid like CMac for Merrett and pick 28 would still be a good deal for the bombers IMO, even though it would probably piss both sets of supporters off which means it’s about right.

    I’d say you’ll ask for the Worpel compo too (pick 23). Hawks obviously can knock it back but probably best for both clubs that Merrett is a Hawk next year if a price can be agreed upon.

    Assuming no other players are involved I don’t see the Bombers releasing him for anything less than pick 9 and F1 with Bombers F2 also going back with Merrett. Clearly overs for a bloke that turns 30 in under a month but that’s the call Hawthorn get to make.

    Lachie will be 33yo in May, there’s no way the Lions would expect a 1R pick. Their midfield is stacked and Annable coming in too, Fletcher is easily good enough to transition, so is Marshall.     Too broad. Pick 19 in an uncompromised draft sure. Pick 38 in a compromised draft no thanks. Don’t know what our list team are planning on doing but I’d be handing STK a list of 5-6 players we’re interested in and that’s it.

    There’s only a certain amount of picks they can carry into the draft before live pick trades only. They can’t amass a dozen 2Rs and carry them in to match. Look at the rankings and do the maths.

    They will need the points. If you don’t realise that I can’t help you. If they can get points through other players like Davies then sure they can push some into next year or get a player but their current hand won’t be enough to match bids for their kids this year.
