AFL RDT (AFL DT) - 2021 Leagues

Let me know if a spot opens up

    Rd12 Trades

I've tried to keep up with DT but games every day and not knowing teams until the day before is just making it too hard/not as enjoyable.

    Round 10 trades

I just watched that the other day! One of my favourite scenes.

    Round 6 Trades

My bench is just a bunch of doughnuts. And injuries to on-field players just keep on coming. I've no idea where my cash is gonna come from. My trading this year is just like that 2004 American comedy drama road film starring Paul Giamatti.

Noble out Young in But I've got 3 names on my bench playing - Justin, Mac n Ernie

    Round 2 Discussion

I ended up hanging on to Crisp because I have bigger problems to fix (Roberton, Dunkley, Brayshaw, Green, Cummings etc). Not sure how he ended up on 82 given he was on 40 odd at 3 qtr time. But I'll take it.

    Round 2 Trades (4 available)

Yeah Crisp to Howe is pretty much locked for me, too. I'm awfully close to doing the Green/Viney trade also. Other than those, I'll be waiting on the teams for further ideas.

    Round 2 Trades (4 available)

Hey gang. I'm back for more punishment. 2020 is a write off in more ways than one. But maybe, just maybe, DT can get me through.

Only the Carlton/Richmond players selected in your team will be locked (from bouncedown)

Hah! Pretty sure he was being sarcastic. To be fair, Brad has been one of the few people keeping things ticking over on this board during the last 1-2 uncertain weeks. I know I've been guilty of switching off thinking that round 1 wasn't going ahead. But now that it is I'm switching right...

Try clicking the link in my post - I know it looks generic but that's how DT do it. Code is 188436 if the link doesn't work for you.

That's the question on the whiteboard at DT HQ right now! Everyones scrambling.

News & Rules 2020 Big Footy Leagues - Now Closed

If anyone wants to join another league, I have made one for my couple of mates who still play DT but dont post on BF: https://sportsdeck.com/au/afl/dreamteam/#/?action=join-league&code=188436

    CoronaVirus effects to RDT

It's not about the money from crowds - it's about the money they stand to lose if they have nothing to broadcast on TV.

    Position 2020 Defenders

Yes, balancing risk is an interesting part of DT. Not only risk in relation to one specific spot, but also across your team. For example, someone starting with one or more injury prone players (e.g. Whitfield, Adams, Kelly) may decide to balance this risk by selecting more durable options...

    Position 2020 Defenders

The risk, albeit probably a low risk, is that something happens (injury, form, Crows winning) which delays his entry into the side and you are left with a donut for a lot longer than anticipated. A bird in the hand and all that.

Still a work in progress; I have no idea about the rookies. Struggling like everyone else in that department.
  18. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Midfielders

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The teams that tag almost always tag Shuey. WCE have something like 2 losses in the last 6 years where Shuey gets 30+ touches. And there is also Yeo, who is very susceptible to a tag - he loses his temper and just gives away frees. Was Kelly ever tagged at...

    Position 2020 Defenders

Aish is $483k - that is primarily where the risk comes from. As Coot mentioned, you can't really compare him to a $247k Doedee. Even a $318k Roberton is a stretch. And if we move on to performance, Aish is only comparable to Doedee (who is half the price). Aish's best year was his first year...

    Position 2020 Defenders

    Aish is a massive gamble
  21. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Rookies

The trouble with Brander is that the club have been reluctant to give him any kind of decent crack. When you combine that with his unique and somewhat loosely defined role (tall wingman?), I wouldn't be surprised if the club denies him the run of consecutive games he may need to find his feet...
  22. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Defenders

Taranto is one I wouldn't be so sure about. Last year's form seemed a natural trajectory for him based on his prior year (and those others blokes were playing then). He is tackle happy, very durable and I wouldn't be surprised if he remains top 10 in the comp for the next few years at least...
  23. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Rucks

I think if Jacobs starts round 1, stays fit and is at least serviceable, then GWS's expected results will keep Mummy out of the team. They won't tinker with a winning side. Mummy only got another year because he unexpectedly played so many games last year due to GWS ruck injuries. I doubt he...
  24. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Midfielders

Before 2019, Brad Crouch had missed 2 of the last 6 seasons and in those seasons he did play he still missed 5-10 games each season. If you told me that Brad Crouch would play every game of the 2019 season, I would have picked him in a heartbeat. The bloke is a proven scorer... when he is out...
  25. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Midfielders

High risk high reward is right! Rocky is just too injury prone for me to seriously consider him, and if I am paying over $700k I want that player to be a keeper. Last year was the first year in a while that I resisted the urge to pick him, and watching him drop those bombs early was so painful.
  26. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Rucks

I think Jacobs is great value. He is durable and has runs on the board. If he can carry you through to his bye with an 80-85 average you'll be laughing.
  27. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Forwards

Smith yes, Whitfield almost certainly, Dusty not so much
  28. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Midfielders

If Mitchell gets through a full pre-season unscathed and without soreness (which so often happens returning from a broken leg), I am picking him.
  29. SloppyJoe

    Position 2020 Defenders

Crisp will be popular and, to a lesser extent, Stewart. Hunter Clark may be a good POD. Very awkwardly priced though.
