    2017 Draft rumours

Sounds like Stephenson's drop could be quite dramatic. Possibly out of the first round.

    2017 Draft rumours

I've seen you post similar things a few times now, and I'm not sure where you're getting your intel from but I can categorically say this is not true. Sure, Rayner has said he would prefer to stay in Melbourne all things being equal. Spoiler - every top prospect this year would have said...

    2017 Draft rumours

Sam McClure on SEN this morning said that he's got it on good authority the Lions will take Rayner, the Dockers will take LDU, and Carlton will take Dow. Hearing it on SEN probably doesn't count as a rumour though. Best I've got.

Who Trade bait at your club?

I reckon there's a fair chance all of Hanley, Rockliff & Green will be gone this off season. Time to hit the reset button on a few fronts. Last year, I would have said a contracted Rockliff would be a top 10 pick and something else. Our most important player, our captain, and seemingly the...

    Draft whispers, rumours & scuttlebut

I think many think he'll now go between 8-12. Not at all about what I think. I can see your points, I was just passing on what an executive at a club said.

    Draft whispers, rumours & scuttlebut

Heard today that a club with no picks in the top 10 is astonished at hearing how far Aaron Francis is set to fall. They've had him #1 or #2 all year and are now regretting not trading into the latter half of the top 10. Thought he was unattainable.

    Trading Players without Permission

The trend of young players coming out of their first contract (or sometimes even before then) and nominating a club is already having disastrous effects and will continue to. Longer contracts for draftees is the first thing that has to happen, and beyond that this idea may have some merit. I...

    Lions much needed key forward

Really? All reliable word I've heard for months is that he's essentially ruled out leaving QLD. Would be surprised if Freo got him. But then again, it's early August and history shows no one really knows what they're talking about this far out - not even the players themselves in some...

    Lions much needed key forward

And Hawkins will be 28 at the end of next season. What's your point? Dixon is entering his prime as a player and should, with a bit of luck, have 5-6 years playing at that level that will coincide with the core of the Lions' list. In saying that, it sounds less likely by the day that Charlie's...

    Matt Leuenberger

Does sound like there's a bit of a bidding war over him. Apparently 2 Victorian clubs (not sure which ones but sounds like Geelong and Essendon) are offering over $500k on 4 years. Would be massive for Leuey. More than he'd get to stay by some margin I'd have thought.

What time are the drafts tomorrow?

    Stefan Martin

That doesn't even make sense. I think it was supposed to be a dig at the Lions, but I'm not sure.

2012 Draft on the Gold Coast

Last season, Gold Coast secured the draft for (I think) five years starting this year. Part of trying to make AFL a presence up here.

Brent Moloney first to go under FA

Strangely little news on Moloney so far. Brisbane are reportedly interested, but the four year deal that's been rumoured would not happen under the Lions' current list management. Bombers appear the others interested. Anyone else have updates?

    Attending the Draft

I've got a vague idea of the juniors coming through, but realise it may be a little dull (or at least, dull compared to watching it on TV and dissecting on here). Thought it'd be great to go along once and see what it's like though. For anyone interested, this is the reply I got from AFLQ today:

Really? He is a gun though, I shouldn't be surprised. Cheers dlanod.

What is a fair trade for Kurt Tippett?

I'd trade pick 8 before I'd trade Polec. Some fans are really impatient.

Cheers for that, I'll keep an eye out.

    Attending the Draft

Great news if they do. So much that can be covered over the off season. I'd love a weekly trade edition of 360 including a wrap up at the end, and then a bit from each list manager about what they thought of the period and how their list is now. Something pretty similar in terms of club by club...

What is a fair trade for Kurt Tippett?

He'll barely be double teamed each week with Brown next season (and maybe the one after that). Keen on him. My only reservation was that the concussions may have affected his ability/willingness to go hard at and impact the contest, but tonight's game showed me he hasn't lost that element of...

What is a fair trade for Kurt Tippett?

I agree though, it wouldn't make much sense for a player like Jesse O'Brien (fringe South Australian Lions player who has been brought up in discussions by some) to join Adelaide. He can't even get close to a game up here, and you would think it'd be considerably harder to crack the Crows team...

What is a fair trade for Kurt Tippett?

I've said it for some time, but I think if the Lions get him it'll be a straight swap for pick 8. Nothing more to it.

Richmond after GWS top 10 player

How many votes do you give away per game in the b&f  Fair enough, then. I don't deny that Grimes has done much more than Karnezis at AFL level at the moment, and I think we've got our own Grimes developing in Justin Clarke - although next year will be the test of that. Let's just agree...

Richmond after GWS top 10 player

    And Karnezis hasn't?

Richmond after GWS top 10 player

Have you seen Karnezis play much? I don't think that's a very fair comment to make at all without proper knowledge. I've seen a bit of Grimes, but I genuinely believe Karnezis could be a competition elite player from what I've seen.

List of Trade Trade Rumours: Part II

Banners has had a poor year, so him for Silvagni might be a goer. I think Hawks and Crichton are more likely to just be delisted, though.

List of Trade Trade Rumours: Part II

To be fair, neither is Crichton. LRL44! I've missed you! It's been so long. Pat wants to go home because he feels like he's missing out on being young with his friends. They're all going about their uni lives and whatever else and he feels he's just fading out of everyone's mind who he was...

Richmond after GWS top 10 player

I've heard rumours that irel is the anti-uptheguts. As for Cotchin being better than Redden - obviously. I think it was more in reference to the importance of each to their side. And I think Grimes will be an outstanding player if he reaches his potential, but still expect Karnezis to be...

    Trade Suggestions/ Ideas/ Values

Just don't see any value in White whatsoever. Then again, Hawksley is most likely a delistee so it's hard to see credit in him either. Sadly he just seems to have too many flaws in his game to become a good AFL player.
