The show itself certainly pre-dates this; for example I remember watching the 1976 installment on Seven prior to that year's Marathon.     Used to smuggle my 70-300 into the Gabba and, once in, didn't have any trouble from staff. That was until a crackdown this year. Now take a 200mm and apart from a couple of suspicious "looks" from attendants, nothing's come of it.
