    First match of each session in the last day was some of the worst darts I can recall seeing at a world champs. Burton v Merks was abysmal and Mansell v Goto wasn't much better.

    I 'd hazard a guess that the timing of it to win the set would not have happened many time before, maybe never. "Chase The Sun" comes on and the crowd got to party afterwards for a lot longer than they normally would.

    Well deserved for Humphries. Not to bag the crowd because they make the atmosphere, but I usually find myself cheering for the guy not getting the rub of the crowd. But those last 5 legs were some of the best throwing you'll see. After his mental struggles, great to see a guy come back and reap...

    Haven't seen the match, but Humphries at his best is as good as anyone in the world. Interesting he was favourite with a lot of the bookies. He gets faded a bit by the masses as he's he not really a lad - the crowd will be behind Littler I think so that could rattle him a little.

    Wright v Rydz was a balltearer for anyone wanting a good watch. Dunno what's up with his hair, but Rydz looks to have gone to another level. Rapid-fire throwing, probably the fastest out there - too fast for the technical director on many occasion when he switched to the 19s or the bull.

    Has there ever been a less popular world champ than Price? Have to admit, I'd prefer anyone but he or Wade to win it, but looking unlikely with some of the withdrawals and results.

    Sadly, I think Gary's consistency isn't as, well, consistent these days. A shame, he's one of my favourites. One of the few who's always measured and doesn't need the faux-aggressive reaction shots for the cameras.

    I think Gerwyn has reined in his outward aggression since his daughter copped abuse after the 2018 Grand Sam of Darts (and he copped a couple of fines from memory).     Didn't get to watch the final yet, but seems to me like the overall quality was down on previous years. There were still some good contests, however ot seemed as is if scoring was down. I know averages don't tell the whole story, but I'd be interested to know how it compared to previous years.

    Probably wouldn’t class either as upsets, although I haven’t looked t the odds. Kim’s best is very good and Humphries is still up-and-coming. Beaton would be close to the oldest player in the entire draw and can run a bit hot and cold. Should be good matchups. Dimitri against Lewis is intriguing.

    Whitlock is a spent force these days. Such a snatchy release and is just too inconsistent, especially when the real pressure is on. If he throws the same kind of averages, Price will eat him alive.
