Review Semi Final, 2022 - Melbourne vs. Brisbane Lions

I voted for Berry, Hipwood, Rich, Coleman, Gardiner. How good is it when it's tough vote? Answerth and Robertson great defensive additions to our midfield on the wing and around the ball respectively. Go in with a lot of confidence against the Cats. Can't wait.

Yeah can confirm the groin has been shocking this year. Also my general football skills.

Harris has been a defender for most of his career though, that’s not a like for like situation. But let’s hope he gets back to his best. Time to be positive.

Game Day Elimination Final, 2022 - Brisbane Lions vs. Richmond

I don’t know, I think he gets beaten way too easily on the lead, has poor disposal and his work in one on one contests is not what it used to be. Gardiner definitely compounds his issues though

Gardiner and Andrews have to be the worst combo of key defensive talls in this finals series

Review Round 20, 2022 - Richmond vs. Brisbane Lions

Eh. Of course we shouldn't be giving up 42 point leads, but we just haven't had our best team on the park for a while. I'm glad Fages admitted Fort was the wrong choice for sub. Without Starc, Bailey, Coleman and Berry for much of that last quarter it was always going to hurt us. Players looked...

Review Round 17, 2022 - Brisbane Lions vs. Essendon

Update: It is not consistent across losses to Geelong/Freo/Melb/Hawks. Back to the drawing board

Review Round 17, 2022 - Brisbane Lions vs. Essendon

You are incorrect about the Lyons intuition. He actually ranks 3rd in the AFL for centre clearances (was 1st prior to the Bombers loss) and 17th for stoppage clearances. Lachie is consistent across both. Really interesting point though I'd be interested to see if that Centre CL/Stoppage CL...

Review Round 17, 2022 - Brisbane Lions vs. Essendon

Really alarming stat to me was our metres gained numbers. In the top 10 players for metres gained Essendon had 7 against our three (Starc, Bailey, Madden). Only 1 player of ours (Starc) had 400+ metres gained to Essendon’s six. We had no midfielders feature for metres gained over 350m+...

Review Round 17, 2022 - Brisbane Lions vs. Essendon

I’m willing to write this one off with so many outs, but the same problems still remain. Midfield is obviously a flaw and wasn’t going to be fixed with so many changes though it’s pretty poor that no one stood up in there. Who is willing to run two ways? Big O missed directly in front. Glug did...

Preview OFFICIAL PREVIEW AFL ROUND 17 - Brisbane Lions v Essendon Sunday July 10th 1.20pm @ the GABBA

Should still win comfortably if our regulars show up, and I'm excited to see the depth tested... But it's a shame. Wanted to see a big win to make up that % gap on the Cats and Dees. Bombers looked like our best chance to do that for the remainder of the fixture.

Was it careless though, if deemed unintentional? I think it’s unreasonable to assume a player should know where the umpire is standing at all times.

Preview OFFICIAL PREVIEW AFL ROUND 17 - Brisbane Lions v Essendon Sunday July 10th 1.20pm @ the GABBA

The thread has convinced me on Nakia for this week. If he’s able to play some solid midfield minutes I think he has the best chance to fill the gap we need… though I would love if Terry/Dev were given a crack in there against a lower Essendon too. Glad Eric has been cleared. Don’t understand...

    Where will we finish ?

Agreed, we should finish ahead of Freo and Carlton. I can see us beating Melbourne at the Gabba, but I’ve pencilled it in as a loss. Collingwood’s easy run home has me worried. Tigers are 50/50, but honestly I’d put a line through us no matter where we finish if we fall short at the MCG again.

List Mgmt. 2022 Trade and Free Agency Thread

Would love another inside mid. Bombers have a logjam of a similar type with Parish and Caldwell (Perkins and Hobbs also looking for minutes) and need more key position players. Seems like a nice match if they can offer a nice contract for McStay. Then again Dodoro will probably ask for McStay...

Unofficial Preview Changes & discussion v the Bombers Round 17. (10 day break)

Out: Zorko, Rich In: Prior, Dev Keep Ah Chee back for Rich, Prior stays on the wing. Dev has been poor but would love to see him or Terry played inside against a lowly bombers, Jerry needs to be played more inside as well. Still don't think Matho can come into a midfield with Neale and Lyons...

Review Round 16, 2022 - Brisbane Lions vs. Western Bulldogs

Nothing to do with the fact I am his burner account... but I like pouring through stats: Neale is ranked #1 in the AFL for contested possession, our next best is Jarryd at #25...After that is Glug at #46. For context, the demons have 4 players ranked in the top #30 (Oliver, Gawn, Viney, Trac)...

Review Round 16, 2022 - Brisbane Lions vs. Western Bulldogs

Would love to see Pryor and Tunstill own those wings, so that Berry can play inside more. Ah Chee looked solid rotating on the wing and defence, a handy player when he is on. Think his decision making has been solid of recent. I don't see Matho (Career 8 CP, 3 CL) as the answer to Lyons (Round...
