Feel a bit for Carey if we do get someone else. Just gotta pick your best squad, though.
  2. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Harper would be a good get as well.
  3. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Ok, well whatever it was, he was in at SACA training every day.
  4. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Wasn't Page a rookie this year?
  5. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Yeah Uni are a good and much improved club. Glad they remained.

Sheffield Shield Round 9: WA v SA @ WACA

    Awful shot.
  7. Daz

Sheffield Shield Round 8: NSW v SA @ Coffs Harbour

    Alex Keath.
  8. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Pretty fair assessment. Seriously talented though. Has the natural ability to succeed at a higher level. Weathers opened last year and averaged about 15 so can't see how that could go wrong.o_O

    Futures numbers for this season. Keath - 187 @ 187 (24yo) Lehmann - 160 @ 80 (23yo) Carey - 353 @ 44 (24yo) Weatherald - 215 @ 43 (21yo) Smith - 271 @ 39 (21yo) Cranmer - 162 @ 32 (26yo) Raphael - 159 @ 32 (28yo) Evans - 77 @ 19 (?, not young though) Nielson - 137 @ 17 (20yo) Dalton - 67 @ 17...

Gregs hasn't dealt with the step up to Futures at all well.
  11. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

I'd be picking Keath as well.
  12. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Carey's next in line. Has split the keeping duties with Nielson recently. Think SACA realised they might actually have to select a keeper for the main side and obviously it can't be Nielson because he's useless.
  13. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Surely we've seen enough of Raph to move on? Would've liked to see Carey or Smith.
  14. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

I'm willing to bet you're not a fast bowler. I sort of agree with you but **** it, I'm happy to not be out there.
  15. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Sorry, just to be clear, which three? There's a hell of a lot of cash on the table for the clubs that decide to merge.
  16. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Is it down to those three? I thought Adelaide, Prospect or Uni might be in trouble.

    Redbacks 2018/19

The leading run-scorer in 1st Grade this year is keeper/batsman Brad Davis. 3 tons in the first 5 matches, averaging 103. You'd think Carey and Nielson are ahead of him given they're in the emerging Redbacks and playing futures but maybe that needs to change.
  18. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Don't forget Dudley who still has two more years of U19s to play.
  19. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

He's had a lot of injuries but he's never missed 12 months of bowling. More runs for Page today.
  20. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Page dominating the U19s. 16yo Connor Dudley also going well.
  21. Daz

Sheffield Shield Round 3: Queensland vs South Australia, 'Gabba, Nov 14-17

He'd be in the frame but I think Lehmann's the next batsman in line.
  22. Daz

Sheffield Shield Round 3: Queensland vs South Australia, 'Gabba, Nov 14-17

Gregory's hit 92* and 137 in his last two Grade games but missed out in the Futures game. I hope Smith gets every opportunity to succeed.
  23. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Not a keeper but by far our best junior batsman. Only 17.
  24. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Weathers is a freak. Made the move to Uni this season in order to take the gloves. Needs to do more, though. Had a shocker in 2014/15 and lost his spot with the emerging Redbacks.
  25. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

We have a good one in 17yo Patrick Page.
  26. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

    Don't think this is correct.
  27. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

You'd probably be dropping Andrews to fit Valente in and Andrews is a much better batsman. He's actually been a standout with the bat in grade cricket/premier league. I just hope Kelv Smith gets a full season and has a big year. Yeah, Davey has typically struggled with the step up to Futures...
  28. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Yep. Jason recently retired. Finished his career as Sturt's greatest ever run scorer, going past Vic Richardson this year.
  29. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

Klinger left because the plan was to play Smith ahead of him. Good to see him finally in the team. Big talent. Travis Head as skipper is baffling.
  30. Daz

    Redbacks 2018/19

The most disappointing thing about losing Klinger is we did it to keep Smith who for some reason can't get a game. Apparently he's excellent. SA cricket has certainly improved while he's been at the helm.
