Scandal Tom Silvagni convicted of rape

Did they whisk him off into hiding or something? They hired lawyers to defend him in court. How’s that stopping him facing consequences? He’s going to jail isn’t he? If I had a kid do something heinous I’d still provide some level of support. I wouldn’t just abandon them.

Scandal Tom Silvagni convicted of rape

There’s plenty of reasons for a suppression order. Don’t know why you’re acting like it’s to cover up crimes. You do realise in a case like this it probably benefited the victim to ensure he actually got found guilty?

Scandal Tom Silvagni convicted of rape

Oh please. Any decent parent is probably going to stand by their child even if they’ve done something terrible. It’s a shocking crime but their job as parents is literally to look after their child.

Scandal Tom Silvagni convicted of rape

What is he meant to scream and shout that his son is accused of rape? Anyone with a bit of money would hire a good lawyer and do their best to keep it out of the news for as long as possible. That’s not a footy thing. Happens all the time in the courts.

Scandal Tom Silvagni convicted of rape

I do agree it is a bit laughable. However suppression orders do serve a purpose if someone in this instance ends up not guilty. And as a lawyer friend told me, they simply wouldn’t have had time to lift it until now.

Play Nice 47th President of the United States: Donald Trump - Part 22: Insert Blame Here

It’s actually mind blowing how this country has gone down the authoritarian route after being so anti China and Russia for years. The Trump cult has truly cooked so many over there. Authoritarian measures on people of allied countries and his supporters lap it up under this make believe...

    Traded Charlie Curnow [Traded with #31, #42, '27 R2 (Carl) to Sydney for Hayward, #11, '26 & '27 R1 (Syd)]

Seem so many ridiculous comments about individual moments of Curnow’s the last week or two it defies belief that someone so lazy, unprofessional and so overrated could recover from what was considered a career threatening knee injury and kick any goals. Must have been some sort of magic trick...

    Traded Charlie Curnow [Traded with #31, #42, '27 R2 (Carl) to Sydney for Hayward, #11, '26 & '27 R1 (Syd)]

Amazing how much some underrate the impact of a proper coach. Just look at the Hawks with Sam Mitchell or the Pies with McRae. Or how Chris Scott continually makes ordinary footballers into gun role players.

    Traded Charlie Curnow [Traded with #31, #42, '27 R2 (Carl) to Sydney for Hayward, #11, '26 & '27 R1 (Syd)]

Yawn. Heard the same crap when the “great” Silvagni was managing our list. Dow etc were going to be stars. Martin etc amazing pick ups We’ll probably hear again in 7-8 years time talking about the next refresh. Thats how this club rolls this millennium

    Traded Charlie Curnow [Traded with #31, #42, '27 R2 (Carl) to Sydney for Hayward, #11, '26 & '27 R1 (Syd)]

I’ve never seen a clubs supporters insist that everyone blindly back everything their club does like Carlton fans do. They might actually have an argument if we were a Hawthorn or Geelong and consistently made great decisions. But we don’t. I heard the same rubbish blind optimism from...

    Traded Charlie Curnow [Traded with #31, #42, '27 R2 (Carl) to Sydney for Hayward, #11, '26 & '27 R1 (Syd)]

Plenty of our fans started scapegoating Curnow as soon as it became apparent the trade whispers were legit and the club was open to moving him. Never seen a bigger backflip from a fanbase on how they rate said players ability. It’s comical but unsurprising because this club has been given far...

    Traded Charlie Curnow [Traded with #31, #42, '27 R2 (Carl) to Sydney for Hayward, #11, '26 & '27 R1 (Syd)]

I’ve always maintained Carlton’s list has been problematic since the days of Silvagni drafting SPS etc. Coaching no doubt hard when you have no good ball users or speedy type in the middle, no pace on the wing and zero AFL level small forwards That bit us in the arae Hence why I find it very...

I wonder who the next scapegoats will be now that Curnow etc have been moved on. No excuses now. Apparently all the rotten eggs are gone

    Traded Charlie Curnow [Traded with #31, #42, '27 R2 (Carl) to Sydney for Hayward, #11, '26 & '27 R1 (Syd)]

Think this year was overblown personally. Challenging year for Curnow yes and his efforts at times were rubbish. But he wasn’t the only one. Even Cripps wasn’t his self. Year started off terribly for Curnow with surgeries and no proper preseason. If he can have a good preseason and avoid knee...

Don’t worry mate they’ll all be revisionist in a few years when we’re nowhere. Saw the same rubbish when SOS was at the helm. He was the GOAT list manager until he wasn’t.

Must have missed the part where we acquired high end picks. Barring a Sydney disaster they’ll be mid first rounders at best. The sort of picks Carlton never has done well with in my entire lifetime. We’ve drafted two ****ing good players since 2015 with mid to late first rounders (De Koning and...

The club only exists to sell jumpers and sell memberships. They haven’t stood for winning premierships in decades like other clubs do

Yes I’m very salty and filthy at the debacle that is the Carlton football club yet again. I won’t woof down the Koolaid into thinking the club is flying when they lose 3 best 22 players in a year including a star and holding onto a clueless coach who has led said problem.

Carlton a flag chance in 2026.

Bottom 4 chance more like it

You must be another one of those Carlton fans who just drinks whatever koolaid the club is selling year after year. 30+ years and counting since a flag Austin and Vossy will turn it around clearly
