Review Round 12, 2021 - Melbourne vs. Brisbane Lions

He does give away stupid free kicks but I think that some players and people possibly most will need to play on the edge to bring the intensity that Zorko brings sometimes.

Review Round 12, 2021 - Melbourne vs. Brisbane Lions

I was about to reply the same thing. If he is becoming/becomes what we want him to he could be a huge asset in the midfield as our big strong body that is willing to use his body as a battering ram the same we that Voss did. Voss type players pop up probably once in a generation so its hard to...

Review Round 12, 2021 - Melbourne vs. Brisbane Lions

I only watched the second half so can only comment on the second half. I thought Gawn smashed us to pieces. Birchill is just too slow. I agree with whoever it was that said about Lester, Rich and Birchill in the team. This was highlighted by Melbourne’s speed. I’m not sure why we recruited him...

It’s looking to me like he will be an absolute star for us.

It’s not just us, the umps have been doing their best to help.

Review Round 4, 2021 - Western Bulldogs vs. Brisbane Lions

We played like sh*t, the umpires smashed us and we went down by 3 goals in the end. It’s not all bad but unless someone puts a fire up the ass of our players we won’t win games that are there to be won. We can only improve. We are 1-3 but should be 2-2 so it’s not all hope lost yet. Anyone who...

So that one was a ball up but at the other end it was a mark?

Game Day Round 4, 2021 - Western Bulldogs vs. Brisbane Lions

We aren’t doing ourselves any favours and arent playing great but jeeze the umpires have helped us kill any of our momentum. We’ve been getting crucified today.

    2021 Lions Off-season

And its a poor point for the reasons spotthedog1 stated.

    2021 Lions Off-season

Exactly this. Brisbanes home advantage was surely chewed up by the end of the season. Nobody was travelling at all which removes another aspect of ground advantages as well.

    Opinion Brisbane Olympics

Trust me. no one is just picking up wrestling one day in their late teens and winning the Olympics. Wrestling might be a minor sport here but around the world it gets pretty big. Not only that but every civilisation/culture has had some form of grappling/wrestling. It is one of the oldest sports...

    Opinion Brisbane Olympics

CrossFit might bring in a good amount of spectators but they would really need to sort out the technique on some of their events for it to be an Olympic sport. I remember watching one even where chin-ups were involved and I didn't see one actual chin-up. I wouldn't say that it's an improvement...

If you could bring one retired Lion

For the sake of the thread not getting predictable lets say you can't pick Voss, Black, Aker, Brown, Lappin. So outside of those guys who would it be? Personally and probably with a bit of bias I would bring in Darryl White who probably my favourite all time player after Voss. He could play...

Who at your club could be AA for the first time in 2021?

Depending on the role Hipwood plays I could see him making a HFF or something like that. I *think* he will be used further up the ground his unique combination of size and speed could see him making a huge impact between the two 50m arches and getting a selection off of that.

Who at your club could be AA for the first time in 2021?

Clugg getting in does rely on wingan being put on the wings in the AA team though. I'm not sure that's realistic anymore.

Who at your club could be AA for the first time in 2021?

Rich, Mcclugage best chances and probably should have already been AA’s Raynor and Bailey may have breakout years and go close.

    Biggest AFL improvers

Yep, one season he was a good but not elite forward then the next he was an elite midfielder and won the MVP. Interestingly his old man went from playing 5 games for Hawthorn at 21 (didn’t play the year he turned 22) to winning Geelongs B&F playing only 15 games when he was 23, the same age Jnr...

    2021 best 22 (and sub)

I don’t disagree that Hippy could be one hell of a wingman but I think Fages is going with 3 tall forwards to try and stretch other teams defences. I thought Hippy’s marking got a lot more reliable at the end of the season. On the lead he is basically uncatchable and could be invaluable if the...
