He had 90% disposal efficiency yesterday mate.
I can appreciate his kicking technique isn’t the most attractive but it usually has the desired outcome.
He of course had the two bad handballs during the Lions game but there hasn’t been any other turnovers. Garth obviously isn’t a rebounding...
I’m not a fan of the Chol and CCJ comparison. I understand they’re both ruck/forwards but I think they’re completely different styled players.
For example, I personally believe CCJ is much more of a Tom Lynch than he is Toby Nankervis. I think CCJ is a genuine KPF who can pinch hit in the ruck...
Had a tough last quarter but the least of our problems.
I think the mindset around his best role needs to change a bit, he’s not an Astbury or Balta. He just doesn’t have the size to play on those monsters, he’s more of a Grimes/Broad size and better suited to play as a third call.
No it doesn't mate ahaha, we change the squad until after the season so Dusty missing the rest of this season absolutely sucks but it's not going to change the plans of the clubs list management plans.
I think almost all Tiger supports would disagree.
Chol is pretty much at his ceiling, CCJ still has a lot of development to come. It was really good seeing Chol do well yesterday but I'd still take CCJ over him.
Some of the earlier comments of a rebuild are way over the top and very reactionary.
I just don't know if I can support a full rebuild when we have players like Dusty, Lynch, Prestia, Broad, Nank and Vlastuin in their primes with all with over four years to five years left in them.
I was getting at him not covering or running the ground as sexy or graciously as Balta or Rance. Nothing about his efforts or work rates mate, I was positive and singing the praises about him and his performances.
I can understand and appreciate that Garth may not be a future All Australian FB, he's not going to go on and play 300 games or become a superstar of our club. However I've been really impressed by the effort and intent shown from Garth over the last two weeks. His work rate is absolutely...
I’ve never once said his disposal was good enough, I’ve said it needs to turn around.
I’m just not in support of the bashing he receives and do believe if his disposal and impact were improved, his defensive efforts and work rate are there.
Totally disagree mate, I think the backline struggled for a large period of the second quarter. During this period we got absolutely smashed in the clearances (Nank was off) and the ball was being pumped in by the Lions midfield.
Outside of this time, I felt the entire backline was very strong.
Garth played the entire game and didn’t go off the field once, for someone who came into the game more then longer it went on shows what a good tank he has for a bigger lad.
With a couple of injuries and a busy night for the medical staff it was really important to have players with big tanks...
I’m not justifying either of those moment, as a forward and with so many options you absolutely must pass it or kick the goal.
My comment around had he of kicked those two opportunities is more getting at the facts large chunks of the rest of the game with his pressure and work rate are still...
I know this is going to be a silly argument because the same could be said for every single player who misses shots at goal.
Those two misses were dreadful. However, I feel if he kicked the two goals he’d be facing very little heat.
I genuinely don’t this his work rate has dropped off, his...
