List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

You reckon they’re suggesting it on their board if they think it’s overs? For me it’s a case of them doing the chasing so I’d only consider it for their 2022 1st + De Koning. Go suggest that as the price and see the reaction lol.

I do agree he deserves 2022 because he does have some redeeming traits as a defender, but I’ve seen the light on what Apex was preaching early in 2021 and I’m standing strong that it’ll be a wasted year in attack and the end for him if that’s how it plays out.

Love it! Geelong should do a lot of things this off-season like bringing in Jack Steele, Sean Darcy and Harris Andrews, but whether the other club agrees is probably the sticking point. It might be best to treat it like Green for pick 24.

And the award for most out of context post of 2021 goes too….

Ability is probably the obvious one, but fundamentally his workrate, contested marking, marking in general, size, leading patterns and speed are all issues at the top level, IMO. I think he’s just another McLarty. Honestly if his surname wasn’t Kelly would he be rated at all? I’m not sure an...

Might as well delist him now because you’re more chance of making it as a forward than Kelly!

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

That absolutely wasn’t to pot Kelly, but rather the coaches. I saw highlights of the after match presser of Mike Vrobel (Tennessee Titans Head Coach) on Monday and he was talking about Julio Jones giving away a penalty at a crucial moment which took them from a decent situation to a bad...

Was that pre or post McRae joining? Real tail wagging the dog mentality right there!

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

I’d be surprised if that weren’t par for the course league wide! Very quickly off the top of my head the WB were without Dunkley, Treloar and Bruce for extended periods. Geelong without Cameron, Duncan and Stewart. Richmond without Dusty, Nankervis and Prestia. The reality is that in this day...

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

Absolutely! The Bulldogs loss and Carlton win were both around that 3 goal mark, but neither result was remotely close or likely to flip.

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

Timing of you’re matchups plays a part as well. If you’re a team that starts seasons slowly and hit a bunch of good teams you’re expected to lose too early the losses aren’t as significant as those against teams you should beat. A practical example for us was the GC and Hawthorn matches if they...

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

Precisely we’re not in a good spot either so that feels like a good way of putting it. Results flipping is something I was pondering the other day (that Brisbane one feels like the real sliding doors result) and what the ramifications were for that trade last year… Perhaps I erred with my...

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

Yeah. They come in post 2017 and we see a massive spike in performance. The defensive brain gets appointed head coach of Freo and we lose the midfield mind after one match in 2020. I understand that some will say that I’m putting a large emphasis on the work of assistants which I can’t argue...

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

IMO, we had a ripping run with injury this year and the only matches from those close ones that maybe turn on player availability are Port (Adams, Elliott and Howe) and Fremantle (Moore and Howe). We were dominated in the Dogs, Cats and Saints games with the end scores flattering us.

List Mgmt. 2021 NAB National AFL Draft

Schupie didn’t refer to FA compo only whether they’d gain picks for losing them. It was you that assumed he was referring to CCJ as a FA…

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

Little of column A and a little of column B. We have three guys (Grundy, Adams and JDG) who are AA quality if they put it together for a full season which is as good as any except the Dogs. The problem is it falls away after that. Crisp is solid as a mid, but his ball use holds him back...

List Mgmt. Trade and F/A - Part 3

Please sell him to me?! He didn’t miss a beat following the collarbone injury in pre-season, he couldn’t get a game because his VFL form was iffy at best and he struggled when he played. All I have in my mind is the dropped chest marks under no pressure that resulted in turnover goals. At VFL...

List Mgmt. 2021 NAB National AFL Draft

Hold your horses! Unless North walk him to the PSD there’ll compo there. If I were Richmond I’d be upgrading the raft of thirds into a pick in the 30’s then offloading that along with CCJ for North’s 2022 2nd. Then depending on how the draft plays out they might be able to flip that into a third...

Thanks for sharing Jen I’m enjoying this behind the paywall access! Hun getting 5 from 2+2 if you ask me. Bolded words are a bit of a giveaway that they’re throwing darts.

Like Gouki I’m not sure, but my advice would be to assume that the worst outcome for us is what transpired because you know Ned Guy… For me that’s $300k pa over the next 5 years.
