I think Steele will win. Decent but not amazing team, 10 wins so plenty of 3 vote opportunities and he is a proven vote getter with no real teammates to hurt him. It’s a proven formula to win a Brownlow. Last year he got 20 votes and the next best from the saints had 8.
only thing is that...
I don’t really understand the point of Dixon. What does he actually do on the field that contributes to a winning brand of football? Acting tough and kicking a few junk time goals isn’t really cutting it.
I guess he averaged the 3rd most marks but he was only 11th most hitouts per game. There is nothing about the stats that screams “Brownlow”. Not only lethal but Kevin Bartlett would have felt aggrieved.
How did Teasdale win that?? Was he the one who got very defensive when Sam Newman suggested he wasn’t that deserving a winner?
surely he knows deep down that’s a fraudulent win. He averaged 17 touches and 1.7 goals.
I’m not surprised but bit weird to bump this thread now. Essendon had a good year and are trending in the right direction. Losing in the first week of the finals to one of the best teams in the league doesn’t negate that
