    Getting rid of a "Govenor General" (sorry drinking) would be a first step. Is there any other country that has a prosess where an unelected person can sack a Democrately elected Govt (except counties like Nth Korea etc)

    I will declare i am for a republic firstly , hopefully the rest will follow. But people don't want to understand that a lot of republicans voted against the Proposal put forward by the Howard "conference" because of the way it was done . Should of been a referendam "Do you want a republic" yes...

    How many aussies think our constitution is like the yanks , "the right to remain silent" etc. We don't even recognise our native people FFS . Not argueing , just frustrated that it is the 21st century and we still cling to a peice of paper that was written two centuries ago .

    Apart from the fact(my opinion) that we have a constitution that only laywers can understand , (and i am not one) , i think i will stick to drinking . :)
