Have Port gone past the Crows?

As the number 1 club in SA? Crows haven't finished higher than Port on the ladder since 2017, and it looks like Port have gone past the Crows in their rebuild too. JHF, Rozee, Butters is going to be a seriously good centre square trio, and might even rival the Judd, Cousins, Kerr trio in 5...

Brian Cook- Carlton to win at least one flag next 5 years

I remember their blue print from the start of 2011 where they aimed to win 2 flags in the next 5 years. https://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/95410/the-blue-print At the time they hadn't won a final in a decade and they ended up winning 2 finals in the next 5 years. I'd be surprised if they won 2...

Proposal to include premierships dating back to 1870 gathering pace

Carlton will be happy since Carter's proposal shows them having won 22 premierships. I don't mind personally as it shows us having won 20 premierships including a historic 4 peat but I have no doubt Collingwood's feathers would be quite ruffled.

Proposal to include premierships dating back to 1870 gathering pace

Daily Mail wrote an article about this as well. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/afl/article-11695627/amp/AFL-Carlton-premierships-Essendon-radical-change.html Interesting to see they list Fitzroy and Brisbane premierships together. I've always seen Fitzroy and Brisbane as two clubs with two...

Discussed in a news article today. https://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/new-book-aims-to-change-the-start-date-of-the-afl-to-include-vfa/news-story/427eecb163534721b6e8f6338a969b02 Interesting to see the premiership tally with premierships dating back to 1870 included. Carlton - 22 premierships...

Collingwood-Richmond, is it a one way or two way rivalry?

Hawthorn have played 26 finals games in that time. Less than Collingwood yet they've won 4 flags compared to Collingwood's 1 flag.

Have Geelong and Richmond destroyed the SA clubs?

Hinkley was at Gold Coast when he got the job as Port coach. Anyway I believe Hinkley is only part of the problem at Port and the problems there are rooted much deeper going back to the 2007 grand final disaster.

Opinion Sack Hinkley 7 - "Turn it around or watch out"

I'm referring to off field staff from the president to the boot studder.

Opinion Sack Hinkley 7 - "Turn it around or watch out"

I know this opinion might be unpopular but neither Port or the Crows have ever recovered from their grand final losses to Geelong and Richmond. I don't think Ken Hinkley is the problem rather he's part of the problem, and I don't think Port can ever truly recover until everyone who was around in...

Have Geelong and Richmond destroyed the SA clubs?

Port never recovered from the 119 point belting they received from Geelong in the 2007 grand final and Adelaide haven't recovered from the 2017 grand final loss to Richmond. In my opinion it's fair to say Geelong and Richmond destroyed the SA clubs. Would you agree or disagree?

I think you mean Kennett, Clarkson and Fagan have been in the news a fair bit lately, aka ex premier, North's coach and Brisbane's coach.

Collingwood-Richmond, is it a one way or two way rivalry?

We've won the same amount of flags and spoons as Collingwood in the AFL era. Sure we've been bad but Carlton have been next level bad.

Geelong and Richmond, is there a rivalry brewing?

Only playing each other once in 2023. I wonder whether or not another chapter in the rivalry will be written this year.

Collingwood-Richmond, is it a one way or two way rivalry?

Who finishes higher in 2023?? Another final between them and the rivalry will be well and truly alive again.

General Bombers Talk Non-Essendon Football Thread XVI

I genuinely forget Hawthorn exist these days. At least North are so irrelevant they're relevant. Hawthorn are just there.

Collingwood and Richmond, who finishes higher in 2023?

Collingwood added Mitchell to their midfield while Richmond added Taranto and Hopper. Both were finals sides who were thereabouts in 2022 and having both strengthened their midfields it'll be interesting to see who finishes higher in 2023.

Collingwood and Richmond, who has the more feral supporter base?

Why are they so insecure when they won 3 flags in 4 years and have record crowds and membership numbers?

Welcome to East Germany Carlton and Collingwood - who finishes higher in 2023?

What about us? At least we have our big rivalry with North while your two clubs have each other.

    Richmond 2017-20 v Hawthorn 2012-15

Port had Hawthorn's measure during 2012-15 as well, and were unlucky to have not beaten them in the 2014 preliminary final.
