    Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2023: Hawthorn v Essendon, MCG 3.20pm March 19th

Not for me. Sammy obviously loves his kicking and running ability. Season 2021 he was looking really promising before an injury interrupted season last year. Happy to see him selected.

    Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2023: Hawthorn v Essendon, MCG 3.20pm March 19th

I was talking about being a round one lock and he's had a while on the sidelines during a very important part of the pre-season so he can't be considered a lock. I rate him as a very good footballer who's improving all the time, but not in the class of a footballer who automatically strolls into...

    Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2023: Hawthorn v Essendon, MCG 3.20pm March 19th

Not sure he's a lock at all. He's not a rolled gold winger and we might give opportunities to the kids whilst he regains fitness and touch. He's not a walk up start caliber player by any stretch especially off an interrupted pre-season.

2023 Hawthorn List Management Discussion (including Trade, FA period)

I'm not sure he's guaranteed a game every week and will be fringe best 22 if we do in fact blood the youngsters as expected. Good, all round solid player who has improved but doesn't have the tricks of some of the others. Maybe that was a factor in his omission.

Training Hawthorn intra-club, Latrobe Uni, 5pm Wednesday 15th

I was at that game and behind the goals in the quarter he was a beast. I went away disappointed that we lost but super excited about what he could be. He was doing it all that quarter. We just need to get him to regain that confidence because Wowee he was good watching closely first hand that...

    Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2023: Hawthorn v Essendon, MCG 3.20pm March 19th

I like your response. He was awesome again last year and took it to another level and was undoubtably punished by our ladder position. I just remember Lynch getting hold of him all too well due to his lack of height alone. Yes maybe, a one off occasion but I never want to see him isolated one on...

    Training 2022 - 2023 Off-Season and Pre-Season training Watch

I like the thought process to an extent. Too cumbersome we'd be though, and the Bummers would run it out far too easily. We really need Lewis back Asap to balance our tall forward mix.

    Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2023: Hawthorn v Essendon, MCG 3.20pm March 19th

Let's not get carried away here. He's absolutely elite at all said apart from the bold. If he was that as well, he'd be the greatest backman of all time. Don't get me wrong, he's a solid defensive player as well. But calling him an AA standard lockdown defender on big talls is a stretch. Let's...

    Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2023: Hawthorn v Essendon, MCG 3.20pm March 19th

That would be Impey. He's in with one of Nash and Stephens missing out. We need his run, toughness and experience out there.

    Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2023: Hawthorn v Essendon, MCG 3.20pm March 19th

I'm not sure if Bramble makes the 23 come round 1, but being excluded from everyone's calculations has me miffed. He's a good player that deserves to be considered and I think he will be. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he's named in the team. An awesome kick which is highly valuable, that's his...

    Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2023: Hawthorn v Essendon, MCG 3.20pm March 19th

I believe overlooking Bramble in this side and exclusions which is pretty much like everyone else's thoughts is an oversight. He brings run and great kicking and has improved immensely since he got here. If fit, he will be in consideration no doubt for round 1. Frost's exclusion is also...

Player Watch 2023 AFL Draft Discussion Thread

Reid is obviously off the charts by all accounts but I wouldn't be shattered if we ended up with Caddy or Durssma as they are more of a position of need. Thrown in Moir as well who I rate only slightly behind. Any which way we'll get a gun at the end of the year no doubt. Exciting!

2022 Hawthorn List Management Discussion (including Trade, FA period)

I like Wingard and he's top 10 in his position when fit but with his age and recent injury history working against him, I'm afraid we may have seen the best of him. He's in my starting 18 round one if he's fully fit but I won't hold my breath that he is though.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Lloyd Meek

Plus add Ramsden to that (who'll end up mostly forward) and Lynch who is no slouch if he can get up and running. This is no area we'll need to address for a long time. We're on track in so many ways.

Unofficial Preview Best 22! Who’s in the team Round 1, 2023?

Love this side. Only change that I would make is a swap of MacKenzie for Stephens and that's just nitpicking.
