Is WACA membership worth it?
I've not been able to go to much cricket recently but now my kid is crazy for it so I'm tossing up becoming a member for the first time. I can see us going to a couple of days of the test (at least part of the days, anyway), plus some BBL and probably the T20I in...
Base for rookie listed players is $42k, from what I've seen. And yeah, it's been reported that Nick Hobson, for instance, works half the year and plays cricket half the year.
His white ball record has always been very good - remember he first played for Australia in a T20I.
Also averages 40+ in 50 over cricket, striking at 85. Very handy cricketer.
I reckon they assume that the entire members area will be full. So it's actually 30,000 tickets plus a 15,000 capacity members area* = "45,000 tickets sold".
*Don't know the actual size of the members, figures are an illustration only.
Yeah, got my years wrong, unfortunately.
So Pakistan are here mid-December to early January, so they'll get Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney (tradition and all that).
And then West Indies in mid-January to mid-February, but also including 3 ODIs and 3 T20s. Wouldn't mind betting they'll play...
It was a Wednesday in November, just after we'd had five matches in the T20 World Cup and we felt we were being handed the crappier of the two touring sides.
Give us India in December 2023 and there'll be at least 25,000 there on day one.

I remember going to one of the 50 over split innings games. Just felt a bit odd, IMO.
