Just catching up on a few shows that I have missed over the past year or so:
THE DEVIL'S HOUR (Prime)
This one is a bit different in that it contains some supernatural elements. It takes a couple of episodes to get used to the structure of the show. Peter Capaldi is fantastic as the mysterious...
Looks interesting and Wilson is always watchable.
Will have to keep an eye out where it lands in Aus though as it is currently unavailable on any legal platform!
I assume the show-runners would have filmed all of the 2nd season presuming that they at least had 1 more season left (the 3rd season clearly would have shown what was arguably the most successful of the showtime era Lakers). I would have thought Adam McKay & Co. would have had something more...
OMG, I'm laughing just thinking of the uproar it would cause. "Aso", "Por Favor", God Blimey"
Here's some doozies that would go down well today:
(Barry Evans) "Su-Lee, spell "Democracy""
(Chung Su-Lee) "C-H-I-N-A."
(Barry Evans) "And I suppose if I asked you to spell "Dictatorship", you would...
I was watching the Aussie ABC series 'Bay of Fires'. Thought I'd look up who was playing one of the lead characters Jeremiah, as he didn't look familiar at all. The answer was Toby Leonard Moore. "Never heard of him", I said. So I looked up what else he'd been in and I had literally been...
Yep, it's been a big hit over in the UK Crime thread for a while now... Good news for you: Season 2 is just as good, if not better.
If you have yet to see it, 'Love/Hate' is similar so will also be right up your alley if you liiked 'Kin'. It's also on SBS On Demand. Aiden Gillan in both series.
I tripped over a movie called 'Boiling Point' with the always amazing Stephen Graham the other night... From the little I saw, it seemed to have a lot of similarities to 'The Bear'. Anyone seen it to compare? I don't even know which came first.
Then, when I was looking up the movie, it said...
Came in here to see if anyone had posted that this show is heading back to channel 7... Umm, still unsure... Anyway, it's heading back to channel 7 next year!
Just finished up Season 2 of 'Kin'. Awesome show. Such a fantastic ensemble. The acting in this show is like a good footy team: A Champion team will beat a team of champions.
And like all the fantastic series from the past, there's always little storylines lurking in the background which you...
Gaso, I've seen the first 2 seasons of Love/Hate & the 1st season of Kin... They're actually very similar in more ways than just that Aiden Gillen is in both. Kin is definitely influenced by Love/Hate to some extent.
I think Kin is tighter and more dramatic, while Love/Hate is a little more...
