I am just wondering if the Mitch Stevens named in the Vic Country side is the same Mitch Stevens as the son of former Crows premiership player Mark Stevens.
On iPhone using...
Out of curiosity, was Neil Erasmus himself or either of his parents born in South Africa?
GUMBLETRON is right though. NGA bids can't be matched in the first round. Talk is that will be extended to the first 2 rounds next year.
Yes, very sad indeed.
Also, probably not as uncommon as we think with players that didn't quite make it or retired prematurely. We only know about Victor's case because of who he is related to.
Jim played 211 games in total, but it may be that it was only 190 odd games that are in the official VFL/AFL records, as the Escort Cup games don't count.
I think the discussion point now with Max is how many of the games Jim played for Norwood in total where played in the Escort Cup, which are included as official games by SANFL clubs but not by the AFL regarding the F/S rule.
I am aware that they are able to trade still in the upcoming trade period to get more points, I think I made that point fairly clear. That is why I made special mention of saying if the draft was held today. I just felt they may have needed to trade more than they felt comfortable with doing so...
You are probably right. I admit I am not across the ins and outs of how this all works like you and Briztoon and few others do.
In fairness though, Briztoon also had the decency to explain how things work more clearly, and have adjusted my take accordingly.
Ok, so that means that if the draft was today and Daicos goes at Pick 1, that Collingwood would have a deficit next year of 726 points at this stage if they make no other moves?
If that is the case, then they will definitely take the chance of going in to deficit for next year. The only reason...
I hope for their sake you are right. In a romantic sense it wouldn't seem right for him to be playing for another club. I am not as convinced as others yet that he will be at the Pies.
They need spots available on the main list to do this. This may require them to try and offload guys that are still contracted. Collingwood have a lot of guys on contracts that will be hard move on to other clubs i.e. Grundy, DeGoey, Adams, Hoskin-Elliot. Either that or have some hard...
Isn't there a cap on how much of a deficit you can go in to?
Also, as good as Daicos is, they will still need to get more points than that if they want more than one pick in the draft.
Yeah, that is correct, I think plays at the Marion Rams, but not sure. Both SA teams get screwed over by not being able to have Indigenous kids in the metro area as part of their NGA programs.
Do Collingwood have enough to cough up for Daicos. Bulldogs have enough players to get them at least 1-2 first rounders with which to match for Darcy. Seems more complicated than that for the Pies I think.
