Prediction Round 7, 2024: Changes vs Gold Coast

If I was ranking these guys it would be: 1. Reid 2. Ashcroft 3. Daicos 4. Sheezel With daylight between each except maybe Ashcroft/Daicos. Give me the boys who win their own footy over the seagulls any day of the week. They play a much more physical role and the week off won’t hurt.

Prediction Round 7, 2024: Changes vs Gold Coast

Please. Sheezel and Daicos are seagulls who swan around half back picking up cheap touches and have never won a contested footy in their life, and Ashcroft has spent more time in the rehab room than he has on the field.

Player Watch Nick Daicos - Can he be the GOAT?

Reid - Can win a tough ball Sheezel - Can win a tough ball Ashcroft - Can win a tough ball Daicos - Runs away from contact and has had to be moved back to half back at times this season due to continuous squibbing and a lack of tackling ability

The way he can weave through traffic at pace having complete awareness of what's 2 metres away coming from different angles, but also what's 55 metres away. Usually the blokes who run with it to take as much territory as he does just smash it forward.

    Yeah I agree.

Prediction Round 7, 2024: Changes vs Gold Coast

All those blokes play chipscab roles either off halfback, or on the outside.

Prediction Round 7, 2024: Changes vs Gold Coast

Sheezel and Daicos are bruise free players… Ashcroft is out injured, possibly because he wasn’t rested enough..

What are you insinuating please enlighten us. The only dot opposition people and media are connecting are we are tanking which actually is smart and I applaud. So what dots are you connecting? Edit: failed drug test is another Oppo are connecting the dots to which I chuckle

Prediction Round 7, 2024: Changes vs Gold Coast

How many young guns of Harley’s stature (think Sheezel, Daicos, Ashcroft in recent years) are rested after 6 games? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Geelong to go undefeated in 2024??

    Ok mate.

Rumour 2024 Hypothetical trade and FA Thread

Why? LDU not a free agent until next year only potential for pushing our pick is Levi Ashcroft father son unless another like a Tyler Welsh explodes or somehow the secret herbs and spices makes cam Zurhaar a million dollar player as he is a free agent.

Preview Brisbane Lions v GWS Giants Round 7 (Thursday 25 April ANZAC DAY 7:35PM @ Manuka Oval)

That is an awesome preview Jimmy and I resonated with the emotions and observations you laid out so succinctly as I'm sure many others did.

Yeah, we've started taking his genius for granted, and think he's out of form if he's merely very good. Two examples of his sheer class that spring to mind are the passage of play that led to Jordy's goal in the GF, and him finding his brother against GC, where Josh didn't even have to break...

Geelong to go undefeated in 2024??

McCluggage is a decent player but exceptionally good? He racks up a lot of footy I guess. Not sure he's in a class of his own though. They're a dime-a-dozen at every club (Guthrie for us). I think Ashcroft is tracking along very nicely. Andrews is a gun. Zorko is hardly great at all. As you...
  16. PhatBoy

Geelong to go undefeated in 2024??

Ashcroft, Andrews has been a strong player for a long time, McCluggage has been nominated for the AA side 4-5 times, Zorko is a c**t and well past his best but was a decent player. Sorry they don’t fit your criteria at this precise second but they don’t have to have been insanely good at this...

News AFL to overhaul the draft, discuss changes to Academy and FS bid matching

I don’t mind the “maximum of 3 picks to match” thing. Did some quick maths with the draft pick calculator. For pick 1 you roughly need picks 17, 18, 19 to match (if they remove the 20% discount). With the discount it was around pick 23, 24 and 25. This basically means if it’s a Brisbane and...

    Player Watch Nick Daicos

His physicality being a point of difference at this age is *ing insane. His power is hard to believe. Nick's point of difference for me is his vision. He's super quick and agile, and routinely gets leather poisoning, but I think his vision in traffic is what separates him from the other similar...

Player Watch Nick Daicos - Can he be the GOAT?

Reid, Sheezel, Daicos, Ashcroft. What is there not to love about the quality of those guys. All of them assets to their team at such a young age.

Preview Brisbane Lions v GWS Giants Round 7 (Thursday 25 April ANZAC DAY 7:35PM @ Manuka Oval)

This is our line in the sand game... For this week... I'm wanting the boys to show some pride. To stand back... And stand ready for whatever is thrown at them... It's obvious we haven't fully adjusted to being without Coleman, Ashcroft and Mathieson.... But each week we draw closer to filling...

Yeah Heeney is unreal. Those explosive mids usually take a bit longer - I wouldn't be sleeping on Rayner. It's what makes Reid so extraordinary - that good playing in that style in year 1 - * off.

Your section emotionally - I think you absolutely nailed it. We have lost our rhythm and it's killing us.

    Player Watch Nick Daicos

Ashcroft was the one that was looking almost the equal of nick, be interesting to see how he comes back. And dare I say it but Flanders is almost in the convo. I also think Heeney has been the standout mid this year so far

    Player Watch Nick Daicos

Errol, Rozee, Butters, and Walsh belong in the conversation. There's a lot of quick skillful runners with dancing feet - Nick the pick of them obviously. Reid and JHF stand out as the two powerhouse stars coming through.

Preview Brisbane Lions v GWS Giants Round 7 (Thursday 25 April ANZAC DAY 7:35PM @ Manuka Oval)

Well, here we are! Given this is a game between two expansion clubs without a tonne of history (noting the Jeremy Cameron hit and Alex Witherden's heat death) I was going to use this opportunity to muse on GWS's standing in the game as this new, post-expansion, self-aware ironic club. However...

    Speculation Liam Baker

For what its worth those who follow the draft closely like Callum Twomey are now saying the 2024 draft looks like the best draft for a fair while. Currently there are actually just 5 players rated in the top 20 (just 2 in the top 2 in the top 10) who will require bids but that still leaves a ton...
