Traded Tyler Brockman [Traded to West Coast for #44 and #63]

Interesting that you make a judgement on one game.
  2. D

Free Agency Ben McKay [Joins Essendon as RFA]

If he watched yesterday I imagine Dodoro has already withdrawn his offer, if indeed he ever made one.

Club Focus Hawthorn 2022 - Amon, Stephens, Meek, Greene, McKenzie, Weddle, Hustwaite, O'Sullivan, Macdonald, Mitchell

Cornes is trying to be a football “shock jock” where controversial commentary trumps consistency.
  4. D

Traded Jaeger O'Meara - [Traded with F4 to Fremantle for Lloyd Meek and F2 (Dogs)]

Do you think this may be because they doubt that a Hawthorn supporter can hold such negative views about the most successful club of the modern era? But chacun a son gout!
  5. D

Traded Kyle Hartigan [traded to Hawthorn for a future 4th round pick]

    Not getting defensive. Just amused.
  6. D

Traded Kyle Hartigan [traded to Hawthorn for a future 4th round pick]

Ironic coming from a supporter of the club that recruited McGovern. Presumably thought you were getting Jeremy rather than Mitch!

Recommitted Joe Daniher 2019 [requested a trade to Sydney - didn't get there]

Exactly. Also Schoey like Joey has spent most of the last two years in the rehab group. Like for Like and he is a free agent.

Recommitted Joe Daniher 2019 [requested a trade to Sydney - didn't get there]

It is not often I feel sorry for the Swans but choosing to negotiate with Essendon rarely ends well. At best they will fail to land Daniher. At worst they will overpay for a formerly great player whose future is clouded by problematic OP. Walk away and spend your time productively.

Recommitted Joe Daniher 2019 [requested a trade to Sydney - didn't get there]

This is obviously a high risk high reward play by Sydney and presumably designed to replace Franklin who had an injury interrupted 2019 season. Daniher is a great player injury free and the Swans medical team must be confident because they will pay through the nose for his services. If it...

Traded Tom Scully [traded to Hawthorn for a future fourth round pick]

Didn't seem to worry the Eagles.
  11. D

Traded Chad Wingard [traded with future 3rd to Hawthorn for Burton, #15, #35 and future 4th]

Does anyone feel this thread would go into meltdown if Wingard had nominated the Crows? The hatred would have been visceral.
  12. D

    Recommitted Andrew Gaff [re-signed]

I suspect then that you are as well or as badly connected as anyone on this forum.
  13. D

Recommitted Brad Crouch [staying at Adelaide]

Unfortunately for Brad his history of injuries probably make him too high risk for most clubs to make an offer Adelaide would accept. Pity.

Free Agency Tom Lynch [moves to Richmond as a Restricted Free Agent]

    Obviously has a bionic bladder.

Free Agency Tom Lynch [moves to Richmond as a Restricted Free Agent]

Both players wanted out because of the infamous supplements scandal and Essendon to their credit did not play hard ball in facilitating their requests. Generally however they do play hard ball and there is nothing wrong in doing so if it achieves the best result for the Club.
  16. D

Free Agency Tom Lynch [moves to Richmond as a Restricted Free Agent]

    83, 86 88, 89, 91 I believe 5 in 9 years trumps 5 in 14!
  17. D

Free Agency Tom Lynch [moves to Richmond as a Restricted Free Agent]

Robbo is too stupid to comprehend that players want the freedom to choose which team they play for when they qualify for FREE agency ie after 8 or 10 years in the AFL. Clubs are limited in who they can recruit by the salary cap and the draft.
  18. D

Free Agency Tom Lynch [moves to Richmond as a Restricted Free Agent]

I think you will find it is Mark Evans. David Evans was President of Essendon when Dank was in charge of their pharmaceutical enhancement program.
  19. D

    Recommitted Ollie Wines [re-signed]

Grammatically that should be with whom. However this is a footy forum. The Hawks have a lot of promising young mids who will develop this year under the tutelage of Mitchell and O'Meara. Howe, Cousins, Worpel, Moore, Hanrahan, Lovell and Glass are some who will be expected to have further...

Free Agency Tom Lynch [moves to Richmond as a Restricted Free Agent]

The ferry goes to Queenscliff not Geelong so travel time would be circa 90 minutes. Also the last ferry in winter leaves Queenscliff at 6pm. It may be better to buy him a motor launch and hope he doesn't get sea sick.

Traded Jaeger O'Meara [traded to Hawthorn for pick 10 and GWS's 2017 2nd rd pick] - Part 2

Considering the world record was 7:20:67 byDaniel Komen of Kenya, that is a sensational run.

Essendon Trading 2017 - Player Nominations and Impact

Most outsiders would classify the Drug Scandal as "football related matter". However that apart I am delighted that you appear to have lured the three usual suspects to Essendon. Observing Dodoro in action will be enormously entertaining if he is true to form.

Essendon Trading 2017 - Player Nominations and Impact

It is gratifying to see you can never have too many Essendon conspiracy theories.
  24. D

Traded Devon Smith [traded to Essendon]

Yep. We all look forward to Dodo adding a bit of theatre to trade week.

    Recommitted Andrew Gaff [re-signed]

Good of you to admit your mistake. We all make them. Many Hawthorn supporters were also critical of Hill at times, however in my view it was their lack of understanding of the role he plays. He has elite speed and stamina and his delivery into the forward 50 is outstanding. Hartung has elite...

    Recommitted Andrew Gaff [re-signed]

I seem to recall Brad Hill being described in similar terms by Freo "fans" last year. And yet unsurprisingly to those of us who rated him, he was one of their best in 2017. I am not suggesting that Hartung has been as good as Hill to date, but if he gets to the West he will thrive on your grounds.

    Hawthorn Trading & Drafting 2017

You are correct in stating that Brad Hill had experienced premiership success on three occasions. No doubt this prompted him to join his brother at Freo where he is likely to to have free time in September for the duration of his career. Meanwhile at Hawthorn we will rebuild with players hungry...

    Hawthorn Trading & Drafting 2017

Even a "destination club" needs early picks to trade in quality players like Stringer and Smith. Granted you probably won't need much for Ablett but it will be fun watching the Suns bluffing before a last minute capitulation. Unlike you I won't be bothered making snide remarks about your club as...
