Congratulations to the 2012 Carlton Board Most Valuable Player, as voted by the members of the Carlton board!
Brock Mclean becomes the 3rd player to win the award, alongside Chris Judd and Marc Murphy, who finished 2nd and 3rd in this year's count.
2009: Chris Judd and Marc Murphy
2010: Chris...
Getting less enthused by the week but some decent performances today for a change.
5. Kade Simpson (so much heart)
4. Bryce Gibbs (blanketed SJ, attacked the footy, kicked a great goal)
3. Eddie Betts (hard to argue with 4 goals)
2. Brock Mclean (still slow as treacle but worked hard and...
A thread for all the crazy superstitions, myths and anything else that people genuinely believe.
I'll get the ball rolling with birthmarks.
I've a Lebanese background, with both my parents and brother in law grew up in Lebanon. They believe that birthmarks are caused by a pregnant woman...

Xenoblade for the Wii. If you own a console and are mildly interested in either JRPGs or WRPGs, do yourself a favour and buy this game. Think Final Fantasy 12 but on a much larger scale.
No other JRPG comes close to it in scale.. No linear dungeon progression to be had here. While the...

Great initiative by the club to stream the B&F live on the website. Count will happen next Tuesday.
Who do we think will win? Obviously a two man race and I'm backing the little champ. :)
Would have to be close with 8.
Polled in 12 games tonight - to put it in perspective, no one managed that in the 2005-2009 Brownlow counts and only 2 have polled in more than 12 games since 2004.
As far as I know, he is the only player to poll in 12+ games and not finish in the top 5 of...
1. Marc Murphy on a phenomenal season, declaring himself as one of the game's elite.
2. Jeremy Laidler and Nick Duigan on coming in and stabilising our defence.
3. Andrew Walker for going up forward and kicking 50+ goals for the season.
4. Brett Ratten for taking the advice on board and...
Might sound a bit knee jerk but as good as Judd is, I think he's become too one dimensional a footballer. Teams have quelled his influence with regularity this year - he's struggled to combat hard bodies mids around the contest.
Has he become too heavy? Obviously he's still a champion...
Votes for the last game of the season.
5. Mitch Robinson - dropped off late but phenomenal in the 2nd and 3rd
4. Marc Murphy - our best player this season and clearly. Missed a couple early but more than made up for it
3. Jeremy Laidler - instrumental in defence
2. Andrew Walker - not much...
Has been given a new role this season in playing primarily a shut down role on the opposition's best player while hurting them the other way.
Many opposition supporters have claimed he's being wasted as a tagger, but is it really tagging in the traditional sense? He's much more a run with...
Probably not the best time to start a topic here after the loss - brilliant game of football, particularly the third. Collingwood were always going to run over the top if they got on top - Crows would have been demoralised after playing so well for 3 quarters.
Came here to ask your opinion on...
Just a heads up for all you non-Carlton folk:

We've a thread for Santino, why not one for the most consistently hilarious wrestler in the industry at the moment?
Makes me laugh every time he has a match, be it mistaking the ref for an opponent or launching himself over the top rope in a battle royale (if you haven't seen this week's...
Going into the game, people proclaimed the Lions easy favourites and I agreed...until I looked at the teams and saw this man named:
Surely the Lions couldn't be excepted to win with this absolute potato out there?
Has no idea what he's doing and every time he gets within five metres...
Perhaps not the best time to start this thread after the draw but he had a lot of critics who questioned his ability to play well in a tight game and today was as tight as it comes.
After an indifferent start against Richmond, when he copped a hard tag and seemed to give up, he's been in our...
Choose a song, parody the lyrics, post in thread.
I'll start - a touch poor but I'm a writer, not a poet. :o
To Lily Allen's 22:
When he was 17 they called him a freak
But he's 22 now and in the 2nds every week
I see that flaw in his gait he's got that flaw in his step
He's thinking...
Just watching the Melbourne - Lions game and a clearly touched kick fell into Redden's hand. Everybody in the ground (except the nearest umpire) would have known it was touched and Dunn went in and tackled Redden.
The ball deviated at least a couple of metres but the umpire had blown his...
What do you characterise with certain names?
I'll start:
Ahmed/Ahmad
Most are tall, some are short. Be they skinny or fat, witty or not, endearing or grating, there's one thing all Ahmeds have in common: they are invariably know-it-alls.
Regardless of the topic, an Ahmed will always...
White, wholemeal or multigrain?
Not a matter of which is healthier, but which you like most.
For mine, has to be multigrain. Been eating it for the last year or so. It's got a depth of flavour that you don't get with the other two - white in particular. Also prefer the texture. Has a bit...
