I've been revisiting the 1954–1959 stretch lately.
Six straight flags obviously stands on its own, but I’ve always wondered how people frame it within the club and supporters overall — especially now in the AFL era.

I’ve been working on restoring and colourising a series of Collingwood images from the 1927–1930 “Machine” era.
Thought I’d share a couple here.
It’s been interesting bringing this period back to life, especially given how dominant that side was.
Happy to share more if people are interested.
While working through some SANFL material over the past couple of years I spent quite a bit of time restoring and colourising photographs from Port Adelaide’s Six-in-a-Row premiership era (1954–1959).
Looking closely at the photographs and match details from those seasons really drives home...
The Golden Era of Football: WAFL, packed grounds, Blokes hard at it, representing their Regions/ Suburbs/Districts.
Now just a memory a fading one.
