Doesn't seem to be any thread for this topic, just bits and pieces scattered across other threads.
I'd say it's almost certain that we'll be looking to find at least one new assistant coach next season, possibly/probably two.
Vacancies:
Adelaide senior coach
Melbourne heir apparent/senior...
I don't really care about the specifics of tonight's game. We need to start thinking about premierships, and why we're not winning them. All my comments below are not related to form. There's no point worrying about form until you have a team good enough for form to be relevant.
As far as I...
Sorry, no idea where that "s" came from. Free BJ. He did nothing wrong.
Anyway, somehow the season has flown by and this is our second last MCG home game, our last being in the floating Rd 23 fixture.
Come on down, have a couple of sherbets and fortify yourself for the prospect of Dane Swan...
Character assassinations on the Prime Minister, libel against the Treasurer and slander against one of the biggest football clubs in the country.
Poor Fairfax.
I dunno about anyone else, but I'm not interested in engaging in a week of Chicken Little responses to a game between half of our side and half of Freo's side. Yes, it's disappointing, but I'm more interested in what our full side will do against their full side in September.
Firstly, full...
I don't think enough attention is being given to the fact that, in a little over 2 weeks, we will be at the MCG (I suppose mathematically AAMI is a chance, but it ain't happening). We will be playing Richmond, Collingwood or at an absolute stretch Port Adelaide. We're back, and we're about 95%...
Now I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think I've ever had a year where I've so passionately and so fiercely been behind the boys, enjoyed every win quite so much and taken every loss quite so hard. I've never wanted to tell so many people to suck a bag of dicks either.
So with that...
Because we all love our beloved media and commentators.
I reckon we should keep the ASADA stuff out of this thread, so that we can revel in the glory of Luke Darcy's eliteness and Jon Ralph's in-depth analysis. And let's not even mention Damien "20-20" Barrett.
It's Jon Ralph who kicks us...
I'm pretty happy with our performance tonight. Losing sucks, and I don't want to make a habit of it, but we dominated long spells of the game, probably 2/3 of the game when there was some heat in it, against the best team in the comp and only really kicked ourselves out of it. I watched this one...
I don't mean predict that Dean Brogan will win the Brownlow or Sydney will win the spoon, but this is the thread to make a prediction that you think could happen but not many others do.
Personally, I think Collingwood are a chance to miss the 8, and I think Brisbane will finish above Richmond.
Last time we showed everyone (except Collingwood evidently) how to beat your front running midfield and watch everything crumble because of it.
This time we close the curtains mathematically. Thanks for coming.
We're a really good team. Tonight does not change that. We have an effective gameplan, and a playing list which has bought into that gameplan. That is why, before tonight, we were the only team not to have been flogged. Even when we were crucified with injuries, we had depth players stepping up...

Who of that list is worth considering and actually a possibility to move clubs?
IMO, if their clubs...
We have $35 left over from last year and the sponsorships this year are $650 per player. To maintain our sponsorship of Colyer and Howlett, I will need to have paid $1300 by February 3 next year, so we should be aiming to smash past that and hopefully look for a third player.
Same as last...
Round 1 we get 20 players + 2 subs.
IMO Watson, Stanton, Hocking, Fletcher, Pears, Hardingham, Zaka, Melksham, Hurley, Monfries, Crameri, Ryder, Heppell and probably Hooker and Howlett are locks in the team so we should play a handful of those guys and the kids/fringe players.
I'd like to...
Well boys and girls, it's that time of year again. The mighty EFC is back where it belongs, so I thought we should tidy the place up and get into that finals spirit.
We're playing the blue ***** in two weeks time, so I thought we should make our avatars our favourite moments from Carlton games...
Might be a positive thread this week!
IN: Dyson
OUT: Welsh (inj.)
Fairly straightforward: Reimers to FF like he did in the second half, Dyson to be the sub.
B: Hardingham - Hurley - Hibberd
HB: Fletcher - Pears - Heppell
C: Stanton - Prismall - Melksham
HF: Monfries - Crameri -...
There seems to be a lot of negativity around at the moment, and a lot of it is borne out of inflated expectations. To illustrate where we are at currently, I thought it'd be worthwhile to look at how the Collingwood premiership squad was built. The players I considered to be important to their...
In other words, ignore Winders and Dempsey.
IMO, the forward press is breaking down as we bring more kids in, and combined with our lack of a defensive element to our forwardline, it makes goals from rebound 50s far too common. Therefore I want to get some more mature players in and around...
I won't say that the last result against Carlton is anomalous because of coaching incompetence, because, let's be honest, Carlton haven't had a competent coach since Parkin left. But the Dons are a far better side than that Rd 19 debacle. Jimmy Hird (that's what it looks like to have a legend...
... unless you're playing on Michael Hurley.
In which case, you have a license to scrag, hold, chop arms, push and general infringe on him.
What does his man have to do before Hurley gets a free kick?
