This is dire. We must improve. A winning record or at least 3-3 by round 6 is the criteria you're voting on.
You can choose multiple options
Many of us are sick of losing. The signs are not great. Players injured. Players appearing not to care. Players wanting out. Whipping boys. It's not...
I admit I am a little sensitive at times to what others say about us. But there are times when opinion and bias becomes so laughable it needs to be called out.
Take one Michael McGuane, for example. Herald-Sun columnist, apparently knowledgable (yes I know he's an ex-Collingwood player of...
Ok North Melbourne Bigfootyers, time to put your money where your mouth is.
I need some predictions from you lot.
How many goals will JD kick in the 2025 AFL season? What will you do when he reaches your milestone? Will you set several milestones?
I wanna see posts like this:
10+: Go for a...
For me, we must go best available. If that's a midfielder, so be it. Our midfield got smashed too many times this year for my liking.
Curious to know what you guys think.
Now that the s***show that was season 2024 is officially over, it might be time to think about who we have, who we need and where they fit.
I realise there is a List Management thread but I'd like to look at positions only, for next year.
Not too many players pick themselves, or at least are...
I can barely watch this team any more. Already have retreated to my home office.
So sad that it has come to this. So many turnovers. Our forward line is dysfunctional. Our midfield is down on form and confidence. Our backline is coming together, but God knows they're getting plenty of practice...
Okay. So during the game yesterday I noticed that our inside 50 count wasn't too bad and was close to our opponent's. I also recall that in round 2 we smashed them in this area but still lost. I was curious to know how we're tracking because it FEELS like we are playing better this year, but...
You know it makes sense.
It's time. We want it, the captain wants it:

There's a new station being built nearby.
A new VFL...
New captain for next year. Will probably be Jack but I want JMac.
Thoughts?

In 2016, our bolter had to be Ryan Clarke, although Mason Wood wasn't far off. Trent Dumont was the 2015 bolter. In 2014 it was Ben Brown. Who will it be in 2017?
Criteria: must have not debuted, or played 20 games or less, and not been "annointed" by BigFooty, as Clarke and Wood have, after 6...
Ok folks, we owe them one. Ok, we owe them several. No more season-derailing losses against these guys.
Here's the teams:
Team v Gold Coast
B: Michael Firrito, Robbie Tarrant, Luke McDonald
HB: Jamie Macmillan, Scott Thompson, Shaun Atley
C: Sam Gibson, Daniel Wells, Nick Dal Santo
HF: Ben...
OK folks, it's yet another must win game in this frustrating season. Lose this and we have to stew for two weeks to get redemption, and also consider whether we will even make the finals with a 5-7 record. History shows teams need 7.5 wins to make the 8 - and that's just scraping in - so 13 wins...
Bring it on. We need to win this. That goes without saying. The players, however, need to be enjoying their footy and relishing the challenge, rather than worrying over the result.
So when we say "we need to win", what does that actually mean? Need to win so we can finish top 4? Need to win...
Okay, it's redemption time. The result and margin is irrelevant when compared to effort. Every player brings 100%: we win on talent and experience. It's as simple as that.
The inclusions of Wood and Brown bring youthful skill and enthusiasm, while Nahas brings pace and forward pressure.
A few...
Game day. Hugely important game for this season, and for perhaps the next few years. We have four of our best 22 out, so we will be tested.
Something to give hope, however, regardless of the result. In the last 10 years, North have not missed the finals when they have a winning record after...
Okay, so I'm not personally a big drinker, but I enjoy alcohol now and then, and it seems like I'm always compelled to have a drink when we win, not so often when we lose. But then again, sometimes alcohol is a way of measuring your excitement or disappointment.
For example, although I loved...
Guys, I'd like to know your thoughts on what Ben Cunnington might be capable of.
What I noticed in last night's practice match, noting that it WAS only a practice match:
1. Barry Cable-like handball, possibly better.
2. Ridiculous evasion moves in traffic.
3. Seeming to have endless time when...
+:
A high draft pick and maybe McDonald in the 2nd round is looking better all the time.

Everything else. There was nothing good about that game at all. I am now taking a hiatus from footy for a while. I'd be disappointed if it wasn't so pathetically predictable.
After round 9:
Coach: Brad Scott
2013: 3-6 Eventual finish: ????
(loss COL, loss GEE, loss SYD, win BRI, loss HAW, win POR, win WBD, loss WCE, loss ADE )
2012: 4-5 Eventual finish: 14-8
(loss ESS, win GWS, win GEE, loss SYD, win GCS, loss WCE, loss WBD, loss POR, win BRI)
2011: 2-7...
I was going to create a preview post, but the Collingwood thread has done a fantastic as they usually do:

OK. Might as well try to think positive from here. We are 7-7 after today, and probably need to go 6-2 to ensure we make the finals. A win next week is required. In fact, the next two weeks are more important than any other this season. Here's why:
NM v Car - We will be hurting after...
OK. Bad loss. Umpires killed us, and then we ran out of gas. Put it behind us.
Look who we have lost to so far. An Essendon team who are 2 points away from being undefeated. A Sydney team at their home ground, who are 6 points away from being undefeated. A West Coast team at their home...
Posting from my phone as I don't have internet access from a PC at the moment: apparently the Hobart Mercury has reported that the AFL has told the Tassie government it is "game over" if they don't allow us to play games for premiership points in Hobart.
Can someone please locate a link?
OK guys, enough already..... :thumbsd:
My thought, unrelated, is that Jack Ziebell will be a very good player for us, but not Captain material. I'd reckon Lachie might be a dark horse as future captain
