to put the flaming of anonymous usernames to one side, kind of interested in which teams are admired, even if begrudgingly, amongst the bay-ites...
my most liked teams includes one that might seem an odd choice, being freo. i really like them, and would be pretty happy to see them have some...
... to give hodge a fighting chance at being the more decorated player?
in 5 less seasons, joel has matched or bettered all but one of the following hodge achievements:
2× Premiership player (2008, 2013) - bettered by joel.
Norm Smith Medal 2008 - well done hodge, joel only managed a 2nd...
i am developing a real soft spot for this team...
cannot believe how overlooked ken hinkley was for a coaching position, he is doing wonders with them. so much young talent coming through, which is really driving their season... a popular pick for the wooden spoon pre-season, and pretty much a...
geelongs recent flags have rightfully come under fire, in my time on this site, for being won against substandard opposition, and therefore being null and void...
a quick scan over recent premiership winning sides reveals a disturbing trend:
2012* - COLA;
2011* - beat the GF chokers, doesnt...
voss versus neeld in the ultimate 'sack race'...
neeld probably in the stronger position of the two after a good win today.
if voss survives this week, can he still be in the coaches box when sydney eat their soul in round 6?
ill be watching with interest.
the current bay whipping spuds are getting a bit played out... watts is becoming like 'two and a half men', boring and predictable.
we need to determine who is the brightest young spud in the AFL - same criteria as the rising star: under 21 january 1st this year; less than 10 games before rd...
the best band there has been, or will ever be.
the only musicians that exceed their innovation and intuitive brilliance are the big composers from rachmaninov back to mozart.
the best melodies since schubert and tchaikovsky, and the greatest chord changes since beethoven.
over the top...
f*** i love watching our clubs play! what a game.
mitchell was awesome.
anderson and hill look like great players.
schoenmakers was good.
until next time :thumbsu:
and if you dont already, you will soon.
terrific display - duncan, kersten, murdoch and smedts stand outs.
add menzel and christensen, and the rest of our starters missing today, and 2013 is looking fairly promising.
lance and gary are neck and neck in terms of average disposals.
lance average 15.1 touches a game, and ablett averaged exactly the same.
so given that these two are tied in terms of overall disposal averages, lance needs to start making up ground in goals kicked.
ablett played the first 10...
this prestigious award has been kept from a legend of our game for too long now.
only sample sizes were keeping him from what was his, and these are now irrelevant.
peter hudsons stats:
http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/players/P/Peter_Hudson.html
in 9 seasons, his disposals were...
geelong: 9 flags, 5 wooden spoons = 1.8 flags per wooden spoon.
collingwood clearly out in front with: 15/2 = 7.5 flags per wooden spoon.
probably safe to say you cannot count yourself a successful club unless your flag per spoon count is 1, or above.
if a player negligently or recklessly made quite hard contact to a team-mates head, is there anything stopping them from being cited by the MRP?
im pretty sure my common sense can answer this question for me, and that would be in the negative, but i thought id put it out there and get some...
two came to mind today, both by accident.
i recently read this post:
in a bay13 'rip on richmond' thread. i was confused. why would a west coast player losing relate to richmond?
then i remembered he actually played for them...
i was actually surprised. then i remembered carey played for...
the port/adelaide divide on here is an odd one...
its not really a 'rivalry', as that denotes respect on either side.
the two sets of supporters are really like husband and wife, 6 months after a very bitter divorce.
truly bizarre.
any word on who actually got the house?
im sure most of you are familiar with rogers results... this guy has the answers to every statistical question you could possibly have in regards to the AFL.

i have a cats based query here, and i hope you can put it in perspective...
currently studying constitutional law as part of my law degree, and have just been presented with an interesting case on a WAFL player from the 1970s, brian adamson.
he played for west perth, and wanted to move to norwood in the SANFL.
his transfer request was denied by the WAFL, as he was...
curious as to other posters thoughts...
watched the 15 minute video 'behind the scenes' post '11 GF earlier tonight.
there is little doubting that the geelong playing group is a very tight knight and loving group. to me personally, they seem closer than other squads.
likely, this is because i...
im currently downloading it, will be my first viewing since the day of the game.
how many times have you all sat through it?
i have put it off for so long, but i need to watch that second quarter again. the only memories i have of that game are ottens spray, mooneys miss, and ablett having a...
could anyone give me any information on him?
any ideas where he is / what he is doing?
also, how did he go when played in the VFL?
hope someone can fill me in a little...
thanks guys

i never bought it when he said he would quit coaching for good...
hearing him say he could never coach against his boys at collingwood seemed a little hollow, after the similar length of time he was at the eagles and...
has it?
also, assuming a player had a kick for goal from 50 after the siren. what would happen in the following situations?
1. player blatantly pushes someone in the back, in order to punch the ball away from the goals. free kick?
2. scores tied, kick is a shocker, and a player from the same...
