Hibberd scarred me when I had him a couple years ago, cuold have sworn he was allergic to the ball and couldnt tackle for s**t. Was surprised to see him score well last year, but just cant shake the thought he will drop off. Mostly just bias for being screwed in 15' though.
Bit early to make that call though. After JLT and R1 teams you will get a better idea.
This.
Currently running 6 premo mids, purely because I havent decied who needs to go yet, and where my rookies will end up.
All rookies just place setters for the time being.
I worry a bit for Boyd, with Cloke there now he looks like he is playing second fiddle which is disappointing, as he needs to start asserting himself on games now.
Doubtful they want him playing ruck too much.
His body has struggled for the last 3 years, I doubt at 32 in his twilight with GC zero chance of pushing for flag contention that they will play him as a solid mid.
He always said even when he was at Geelong he wanted to end his career in the forward line and play on as long as he could...
If they were serious about playing 2 rucks Spencer would have been named.
Clearly they are comfortable running Gawn with minimal back up, which is a good sign for him.
Would be a tough call, nothing to say he wont struggle to keep his spot again this year.
Good player, but competing with too many others for the same roles which has kept him on the fringe.
Agreed with Ryder, they are clearly backing him to spend a fair amount of time in the ruck, and add that to resting in the forward line, could be very good.
Dont get too upset, remember Taylor Hunt a couple years back, and Touk Miller that same year.
How many people traded Touk out for Hunt after the first 2 games, then spent the rest of the year cursing that choice.
Good news, fingers crossed for Otten now.
I would say Smith, with Garland gone, he would be a good replacement.
If he plays round 1, then I would say thats the choice they have made, so wait for the benches to be named for the Sunday teams later today.
He only played about 70% game time, but didn't look terrible, but also didn't look like he was pushing himself too hard, which is to be expected. Played all 3 games though, which is a good sign.
No reason why he couldn't average 90, just a big question mark over how the year off and everything else will affect him. Either he will drop of a bit as he gets back into it (lack of match fitness, etc), or he will come out firing (what ever doesn't kill me makes me stronger).
Will be...
Sandi is 308K, not much of a risk there. And unless you plan on taking both Goldy and Gawn then your second ruck is a risk anyway.
Also at 453K you pegging Watson to be a keeper. Sandi at 308K can be used to make a bit of cash and hope Gawn or Goldy's price drops.
I wouldn't take either myself, but if I had to choose I would be more comfortable with Touk than Steele.
At those prices you would really need them to be averaging close to 100 to feel like you won, and I can see Touk doing it before Steele does.
Steele looks like a play that will be a stud...
200K and too many Essendon believers.
Everyone wants fairy tale.
Life isn't a fairytale people, Jobe has been away for over a year, how do you expect him to just return to his old form. A year and a half since his last game is not ideal for a 32 year old.
If he starts like Hall did last year then I would be happy with that :p
I just think he is a safer bet than Steele, at least you know if given a fair run he can produce. Steele is a complete unknown.
More to defensive pressure than just tackling. Having a pack presence that can bring the ball to the ground and bring the small forwards more into the game is a valuable commodity.
Melbourne have a beast in Hogan who can pretty much just do as he pleases and he will be good at it, but...
