Pretty insane to see both Gaff and Simpson named as emergencies for either side. Hugely experienced Gaff has nosedived, Simpson hasn't even played a game at AFL level but has been given rough treatment in the WAFL, yet they are both emergencies. Says a lot and sends a clear message to Simpson...
Keep it going JT, keep clunking those marks, kicking goals, crashing packs and tackling like a maniac. Still only 21! Cult status approaching if he keeps this up. Hats off to Graham who has developed him well, and mentioned he and Jye work to allow space for each other, which very rarely...
Very late reply but 100% :)
In all seriousness though, I'm fine with Hamling leaving, the only disappointing thing for me was his parting shot.
Definitely agree about Draper, he is the future and Hamling was not. Super happy we're getting games into him and hope we can keep him in when Cox...
He could do a JHF and demand a trade at the end of the season, but he's a country lad so I think he'll stick it out to at least the end of his contract.
Also has only had 7 disposals to half time, hope this makes The West realise he needs time to develop and stop expecting him to be the second...
I had no idea he played forward as a junior, could have been handy up there after we started drafting guys like Young and Chapman (and trading in Clark) who kept him out of the team. Looks like he's enjoying his foot, good on him
Be interesting to see if they'll fly Delean with the squad so he can spend a couple of weeks with family in Adelaide.
I'd also like to see Simpson in Emmett out
Fair call there I reckon, I could never imagine him hanging around with Bikies, more likely to be out doing some volunteering charity work.
FWIW I wanted Dylan Stephens in the 2019 draft, how wrong was I? Serong and Young and Frederick all drafted after him. Alot of good players in the first...
Very honest and heartfelt match preview dockerfemme - we've seen some bloody hilarious much previews over the years but you've reminded us all that footy can be something to help us through tough times, even when Freo are near the bottom of the ladder, we just keep supporting :)
Jye to bounce...
Thought Xerri played really well in the 1st half and monstered Jackson, but he does have age, height and weight on Jackson. Great to see Jackson fight back. Was wondering how North would go with Goldstein being traded but looks like they have a good ruck in Xerri. Xerri won the hitouts but...
Low expectations, he always seems to take at least a few games at AFL level to refind form after coming back from injury. He just needs to make space for Amiss and Treacy, and draw a KPD, and I'll be happy.Bonus points if he snags a couple of goals.
Agreed, loved your post and insight im_a_lazy_sod . When I heard about Winnie I thought that's a brilliant move by the club. From personal experience a Blue Heeler would be great too for some players wanting some rough and tumble - mine once ran into my hills hoist head first, at pace - paused...
