    Preview Changes/Preview – Round 8 vs. Geelong

I don't think Windsor will get dropped next week off of one poor game. He has been serviceable all year. The whole midfield group was poor. Dropping a first year player off of one poor game is unfair when the whole midfield group is playing poorly. Our forward line is a shambles. Petty...

    Game Day Round 7 v. Richmond @ MCG - Wednesday, 7.25pm

BBB is a bit stiff to be dropped given how poor Petty and JVR have been. Tholstrup I get - he was poor last week. But I think young players should get a few weeks in a row to build chemistry and adjust to AFL level. I think bringing players in-and-out is just bad for their confidence and...

Player Watch #2: Jacob van Rooyen – re-signed until 2029

He kicked 7 goals across two games against Richmond last year.....basically 20% of his career goals have come against the Toigs. Hoping they are a bunny team for him and he kicks another bag.

Stolen from Reddit It must have been a full moon to make our three best mids play this poorly.

Player Watch #2: Jacob van Rooyen – re-signed until 2029

I am whelmed. He is a promising young player but I feel like giving 4 more years on his current form is a mistake. He has been giving me flashes of Brad Miller this season. Thrown around the ground to play roles that are beyond him. Poor decision maker. A bit of a sniper. A worse mark...

On his current form, a second rounder would be a steal! Hell, I'd even waive the pick if Adelaide agree to take Goodwin back as part of the deal!

    Preview Changes/Preview – Round 7 vs. Richmond

Out: Oliver stays out until he is fit. I assume he will be right in a month or so. Move Sparrow into the guts, and a kid into the HF/Mid role. Maybe AMW? Or keep Tholstrup there? Just giving someone new a run of 3-4 games at AFL level would be good for their development. One of the KPF's...

Review GBF - Dees v Bears - Where is biff?

Good: Tholstrup got to debut so bully for him I suppose. He didn't do much but looks good enough to keep Laurie out of the team. Chandler played well which was good to see as it was a horror night for our forwards. First time going to a game at the 'G this year for me. Going into the bye at...

Player Watch #6: Caleb Windsor – the kid just has 'it'

I don't think Watts being drafted by another team would have made much of a difference. Whilst he was a gifted athelete he was still supremely lazy. All things considered, he had a decent AFL career notwithstanding that he didn't live up to expectations. Most players will never reach >150...

Bedford is an excellent example. I always forget about him since we never fn played him.

Player Watch #6: Caleb Windsor – the kid just has 'it'

I agree. With established teams, it is easier to bring in a kid and play them in a clearly defined role where not too much is demanded of them. It is the approach being taken with Windsor and Howes this year. McVee last year etc. As they get more capable then obviously their role gets...

    Preview Changes/Preview – Round 5 vs. Brisbane

I don't think BBB's current form warrants him being dropped, but I would like to see him make way for Fullarton for the next 3-4 weeks. Fullarton's sole purpose is to keep JVR out of the ruck. The club is demanding too much of JVR for playing as the relief ruckman, it is hampering his...

    Preview Changes/Preview – Round 5 vs. Brisbane

He left the ground, stuck his elbow out and struck the Crows player in the head. It was a deliberate action. Not incidental contact. No chance he gets off on appeal. Time for the league to take zero tolerance for non-football acts. We have been drafting some absolute grub snipers lately...

    Preview Changes/Preview – Round 5 vs. Brisbane

Billings deserves another go next week. He has flaws, but he generates shots on goal which the team was sorely lacking last year. The forward mix needs more time to gel together.

Review Dees v West Horsham - Good, Bad & Fugly

Good: McVee, Chandler, Sparrow. May was surprising too, very impactful, I was anticipating he would have a quiet game. Bad: Watching JVR, Brown, Petty and Fritsch appeal for free kicks every time the ball is in their vicinity is getting insufferable. Is this being coached into them by...

Inexperience is not an excuse for poor work rate.

Player Watch #6: Caleb Windsor – the kid just has 'it'

I don't think a modern team can carry too many one-way runners. You're thinking is about 30 years behind the game. How quickly people forget that one of the strengths of our 2021 side was the defensive work of Langdon and Brayshaw.

    Preview Preview/changes v. Adelaide - Round 4

You don't have to replace him with a tall forward. I mean, it's not like we mark it in our F50 arc anyway. And even if we did lower the eyes to hit up targets, JVR would probably spoil it anyway.
