Clubs can always front end a lot of the contracts so they have more money leftover in the future years to attract free agents.
Although when I hear about players with huge chunks of their salary backdated towards the later part of their contracts, it sounds crazy to me. Why in this financial...
Well if AFL is going to offer them additional assistance, maybe it should be in the form of soft cap relief so they can build a good recruitment and development program. That to me is more important than getting more elite talent in.
Clearly everyone thinks recruitment team needs a clean out. Just go offer Andrew Mackie and his team a blank cheque book and somehow convince him to come over. Best in the business. Then ask him how Geelong develops players!
Sam power at the dogs isn’t bad either at trade deals.
I thought Irish players are meant to be good kicks. Whats going on with his kicking ? Surely you can't have one of the main midfielder not be able to hit targets under no pressure ? he's chipping it like a pitching wedge.
I was at the game and saw him shake his head several times after kicking...
Agree tough to know what it really means until after the Sydney game. The amount of times North fumbled or miskicked their developing attacks was comical.
You may not want your team to ever lose, but I want my team to win premierships and the last time that happened was when we had access to amazing talent in the draft. The system necessities finishing at the bottom to get good talent in. Like it or not, that’s the system!
Our recruitment and...
It’s not the supporters fault. The system and the associated media coverage is set up to make supporters of bottom 4 teams pray for their team to lose. Even the clubs in the offseason try to trade their way to a higher draft pick that they could have had to start with if not for a meaningless...
There might be clubs with much better medical teams than ours who can make these players more durable! Brisbane is one example. CJ and Mitch Lewis could both do with fresh starts with a medical team that can look after them better. I can’t imagine our injury record is all that good.
So based on Sam;s comment in the presser about recent training loads and then Dylan Moore's interview, we have been taking it lightly in the training in the recent weeks ?
the one things that's probably not been made much of, is that the way Gold Coast played with incredible pressure and the talent to match, they're looking a top 4 lock if they keep going like this.
The same goes for work emails. I now have a rule to not reply to emails that trigger a emotional response until the next day atleast lol
You do realise projections should ALWAYS be based on latest set of actuals ? Ask any good accountant!
wow, just watched Mitchell's presser. Good to see he sees things as dire as we do. Players are not listening to instructions. unfortunately in the football industry, its the coach that ultimately pays the price, not the players.
lol the irony. Doggies supporters saying English's disposals around the ground are useless because he can't fulfil his primary function as a ruckman which is to win taps. and we have one the best at it on our list playing in the VFL now and everyone wants to replace him with English. LOL
